What has the artist being a 'Chav' got to do with anything?
I'm absolutely disgusted with this forum sometimes. The last few days, this has become more clear to me.
Every single time there is a thread on Adele, Jessie J etc...There is always one poster who call's them chav's. EXAMPLE "Who cares anyway, she is just a chav who doesn't deserve any success". Erm, what the hell? Only because Adele and Jessie J haven't had the most privileged background, does most definitely not diminish the talent they both have. In actual fact, its actually more impressive as opposed to someone like, Lana Del Rey. Adele and Jessie have worked their way up in order to achieve a better life for themselves. Surely, that's something to be commended? I mean, would you have preferred them to go into crime??? And some people in this Country don't realise why the youngsters these days feel like the whole worlds against them. Honestly, it really does not phase me if you don't like Adele or Jessie J (who I don't really like anyway), but annoys me when you call them 'chav's' in a pathetic way to bring them down. |

They might not be that worried about it themselves.

I mean, they might not have the most eloquent mannerisms, but they are damn more successful than most of us will ever be!

Thank God it's not me that's just pissed off with this. I'd love to know what people consider a chav if they think Adele or Jessie J is one? I thought a chav was somebody who was always swearing, drinks a lot, wears trackies, starts violence for no reason, a lot of bling, spitting, no interest in a working living etc.
So Adele give the finger at the producers for cutting her off... so apparently she's a chav? She's not exactly Jeremy Kyle Show material is she? She's a damn hard worker at her career. As for Jessie J, I have no idea either. She seems like a fun down to earth girl. She doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs etc. She doesn't swear when on shows. She seems to be enjoying her own career as much as her fans. There is no arrogance or such characteristics about her. ![]() I can understand peoples opinions of Cheryl Cole (though she's not realy chavvy anymore) and Tulisa because of the way they have been portrayed. But when every artist is labelled a chav, the word is wore thin. |

Labelling someone a chav is basically a lazy put down by posters desperate to belittle the success of artists they don't like.
It's rather sad, childish and pathetic, particualrly when certain posters are allegedly in their mid forties and therefore really should know better...... |

Actually that's a misconception about Lana only getting where she is because of her father. He didn't financially support her music career no more than any other singer, it was totally down to her hard work.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...ic-career.html The truly enlightened ones like us know this and tbh I've given up trying to 'enlighten' the ones who can't be 'enlightened' on this. Let them be with their misconceptions/ignorance is my advice. |

They're celeb Chavs. If Adele didn't sing she'd probably work at Cineworld.
Oh dear. Adele wrote Hometown Glory at age 16. If she couldn't sing don't you think she just might be still involved in the music world as a writer? Pray do tell us what you had actually achieved by the age of 16 (if you are indeed past that age). GCSEs in Delusion & Snobbery perhaps? |

Because we're talking about Adele, not me. You should learn the art of debate.
And you should learn the art of not spouting nonsense that you can't subsequently back up in the course of the debate. Lesson learned, I hope. Call someone a chav, no matter who it is, and expect to have your credentials verified, my friend. Something you clearly are very uncomfortable with. |
