UK Garage was a beautiful thing...
...but what the f**k happened to it?
The stupid number of road miles covered and trees smoked while jamming to the shit. Mental. Todd Edwards and MJ Cole completely owned the scene in its heyday IMO. A few mellower joints to get the nostalgia flowing: Todd Edwards - Ooh Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkt-8Qhd7k8 3rd Core - Mindless & Broken (MJ Cole Mix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orRIV1SK0Gc MJ Cole - Sincere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCIXjKSwuWA Todd Edwards - Shut the Door http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qYhfA-2Img Todd Edwards - Come Around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ZNWlSHLP4 Please share any more shit you may have archived up somewhere with the same sort of feel. There's gotta be stuff I haven't yet come across. Anything sort of similar at all doing the rounds at the minute? Am I just not looking in the right places? Or is it really dead for good? |

It'll come back. It's all cyclic. It's still played in clubs in North London.

Wildchild - Jump To My Beat (Todd Edwards Mix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCH38YqP3eE Classic from 96. New stuff, not sure although there are elements of it in Jackin House (certain tracks): http://www.traxsource.com/jackinhouse |

I am all for this thread! UK garage was the soundtrack to my youth....
MJ Cole Sincere is a highlight, but the tune I played to death was Artful Dodger "Think About Me' |

Here's another Todd Edwards mix.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy-e7-INHG4-Todd is an amazing talent. He transformed this track from US Garage anthem to UK Garage anthem-nice work(this was the US garage version which I love as wellhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6z77yRxtmY the main part of the song begins about 1.50mins in and is very different from the TE version. There was another group of Djs called the Dream Team who used to do great work as well but I'm not if they where UK based or not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_garage |

Wow there's a lot of stuff there I must listen to! I never heard much of UK Garage in its prime, as I only listened to cheesy pop when I was a kid. I'd say some of it would do well in today's chart.
