try this RCE Workaround

Enter the disc.
Wait for the RCE warning sign (world map)
Press memory
Enter into Title 1 - Chapter 1
Press Play
Press Clear
Note: The movie will play, but MENU will not work.

The hack mentioned above is fine, but after the title starts to play, you must press "memory" and then "clear", otherwise it will only play chapter 1 !!.....To avoid having to do this, try entering T1 and then enter 00 in the chapter field , followed by play. Although the "00" will not show on the screen, the disc will start to play the whole title.

this mite help

unfortuatly i dont even get this - it just say's 'loading' and then 'disc error'.

so is it actually the first and only dvd conflict?
(btw the region is correct with my dvd player - as in it should work fine.. - however even though its marked as 2, it may only be able to be read by multi-region players...)

Sounds like your disc is screwed, mate!

I would take it back and ask for a replacement to wherever you got it from, they should do it for you.

surprisingly ive already done that lol

thats why im posting - is this a common falt, or am i screwed dvd player wise rather than disk wise...

A singls screwed disc, or calling it it's more technologially correct term, a faulty disc , is a rarity. Maybe the actual disc itself has been damaged in some way. I have a PC Gamer DVD that dosn't read properly as it is slightly bent .

Or even the whole batch of discs are at fault, and that has happened before.

So with that in mind lets continue.....

.....sam_i, the problem will probably be with the batch of discs bought by the place you bought it in. Go the there and ask them if it would be possible to play the disc, just to make absolutely sure it dosn't work. If it does then it MAY actually be your player, but only with that disc.

If it dosn't work in the shop; the only two alternatives would be asking for your money back, or more realistically the shop will ask you to pick another one.

I REALLY hope you get it sorted out and enjoy what is a hilarious movie in crystal clear vision.
