Not long ago I saw him singing "Night and Day" on the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club from 1974, and he was fantastic. He had a really rich voice and great control. If he hadn't been such a fat ugly bugger, he could have been a successful singer instead of a comedian.

When someone mentions him I can't help but think about what an ignorant man he was.

Yeah, but a great singer. Up until the 70s, that is. After that he seemed a bit too out of puff to sing.
