Her album is due to be released this year and the next UK single is apparently R.I.P. written by Drake. She already has a #1 single with DJ Fresh 'Hot Right Now' and is signed to Jay Z (Rihanna, Alexis).

I think she'll be the biggest British female this year. Last year was arguably Jessie J. What do you think?

Well, she's already had a #1, so she's doing quite well.

I would love her to be the next big thing. She's a beautiful woman with an amazing voice, I've seen her singing other things on Youtube and if she's given the right material she'll work wonders. She's already on the right tracks with a number #1 already under her belt! Good luck to her!

She'll have a decent career, but she lacks something...

She's one of several who can sing but has the star quality of a blade of grass. Her #1 was due to the name she recorded with.

I'm getting sick of being told who I'm supposed to like this year. Or any year.

She can sing but I don't think she's the second coming. We'll see what she's like live. Oh and the quality of her material. People like Hot right now not because of her, but because of the beat. And for her, that's an issue.

She looks a lot like Rihanna and Pixie Lott put together!

Lol at the OP. I couldn't take them seriously when they said Jessie J was the biggest british act last year! Uhm...Adele?

Anyway, no...I can't see people being intrigued enough to go out and buy the album!

Saw her as Drake's support act last night. Do not think she has what it takes to make it big at all - decent voice but absolutely zero stage presence and appeared to be resorting to jumping around swearing to make herself seem interesting (she dropped the 'f' word literally about 10 times within her first minute or so on stage).

I'd have to hear her on anything other than Hot Right Now before I could decide.

Her voice is good and I love Hot Right Now but I don't think she'll be the next big thing. I'm looking forward to hearing her album.

Hot Right Now and R.I.P. are probably in my top 5 songs of the year so far so I was pretty excited when I heard she was supporting Drake in Manchester but after seeing her perform I was a little underwhelmed. The excessive swearing and jumping around can be put down to nerves and inexperience I suppose but there seem to be something lacking stage presence wise. Her voice is good live and hopefully she can develop into a better performer and make the stage hers with time.
Would I be right in thinking the Manchester Arena would have been one of the biggest crowd she's played for? (I only heard about her a months ago so don't know if she did any festivals last year etc.)

Even so, I've voted yes in the poll. I reckon we'll be seeing and hearing a lot more of her in the next few years.

She has potential, unfortunately R.I.P is abit lacklustre for me.. but they've stuck Tinie Temper on it so that should get a few more sales.

Obviously Adele was the biggest name, no doubt about that. But Jessie might have been the biggest breakthrough artist. This is suggested by the fact that she won the BBC Sound of 2011 "decided by music critics and industry figures to find the most promising new music talent" (Wikipedia). She also won the 2011 Critic's Choice at the Brit Awards. Adele won the Critic's Choice already in 2008.

I didn't think much of her on the song Hot Right Now (thought she sounded like a less impressive Alexandra Burke). But her new song shows much better potential. I really think she has the potential to be the UK's answer to Rihanna. We haven't really got our very own "Rihanna" type of artist so I think Rita could easily fill that space. "R.I.P" is an improvement but still isn't amazing and if she wants longevity then she'll need better material.

I don't think we need 'our own' Rihanna since we have Rihanna. I think after the States, the UK is her biggest market. Rita's team would do well to stop studying Rihanna and let Rita be Rita. It's a shame cause I think with the right things in place she could be interesting. What we currently have, in my opinion and from the little we've seen, is a poor imitation.

I am going for Maybe

I finally got round to checking her music and i thought "well how many times i have heard music like this". Her music isn't generic but i get the impression Dance isn't her thing and she is just another Urban artist failing to do dance music. She could be this year's Alexis Jordan. Another talented girl whose music she released was just not right for her.
