I have an HTC desire and my internet is taking up 30mb which will free up space. But what will happen? I'm aware ill lose my passwords, history and saved 2websites.
I'm just annoyed as ny phone has automatically deleted my 6000 saved texts, which is frustrating. Any help much appreciated.

Do you mean an application is taking up 30MB, as that sounds a lot. Or do you mean that clearing data and cache will free up 30MB?
Since the desire has space problems, I don't see you have much of a choice.
You can get your texts back from your backup.

I have a 32GB microSD in my HTC Desire. There was no problems.

I had memory problems until I upgraded to gingerbread.

What has the size of your SD card got to do with the 145MB restriction on internal memory?

You can transfer the storage of some apps to the SD card. Go Menu, Settings, Manage Applications and under the downloaded tab click on each one. If you can can save an app to the external storage it will come up with an option to "Move to SD Card". Click on this and it will transfer most of the data out of the internal memory. If I was you I would do this for all of the apps.

If you download an app called Apps 2 SD it will automatically notify you when an app can be moved. It also comes up with an optionto clear your cache when it becomes to large. All this helps with freeing up memory.

I deleted the data file once and I lost all my shortcuts. I dont remember any other long-term issues. Beware though, it is normally only safe to delete the cache.

you will delete all your bookmarks and history and things like that

id download a bookmark back up app, back up the bookmarks, then delete the data then restore the bookmarks, should have gained back most of that 30mb

edit just to say you sure its 30mb as thats a lot, id just delete it, nothing bad will happen, you'll only lose the stuff i mentioned up above

Thanks for all the help - deleting it didn't do anything major.
