I suppose it's not really, you're right. I take it back.
It's still not a shocking choice though.

That's an inspired choice for Rowetta, I've got to say.

Excellent choice, I really can imagine her singing that very well.

How do you know G4s song choice is bad until you have actually heard them sing it. Some of you are so biased, it`s unbelievable

Hope Steve doesn't sing his song too well. It's one of my all time favourites.
Rowetta/Steve
Steve/Rowetta.
Decisions. Decisions.

No decision really - Rowetta has her contract whether she wins or not so doesn't need your vote.

What is it with these shows?

They go on about the acts being credible and for todays market then they give them the most outdated tosh to sing.
Whats wrong with them singing more up to date and current material?

They said Atlantic Star I think, I've no idea which version that is though!

lol i know that one - that makes much more sense than what sprang to mind for me! I suddenly had nightmarish visions of them trying to the Bon Jovi song, I'm all for trying new things but couldn't get my head around that!!

A couple of weeks ago Simon Cowell slagged off Mick Hucknall bad, so why now is he making one of his singers sing 'If You Don't Know Me By Now'?

Expect fireworks people.

Ah yes, 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' is meant to be quite a sad emotional song. I wonder if he sings it with that stupid grin on his face like he always does no matter what the song is .

I agree with NewWoman as well. We always seem to get predictable, outdated songs on these talent shows. I wish they'd use their imagination more when picking the songs .

Possibly because its a Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes song?

Simons got a thing for that song anyway. Remember mark did it on PI2?

Mick Hucknall covered it, maybe Simon Cowell is thinking more of a version closer to the original Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes? Or maybe something completely different to either version

Mark sang this on Pop Idol 2 the week Sam went out. Simon said that the songchoice was the reason that Mark got the votes which is why he has given the song to Steve. It was originally done by Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes I believe.

i wonder if sharon has given this track to tabby to try and convince us that he can sing. imo there are very few singers who can deliver that raw sound that is noddy holder. as a child of the seventies i can honestly say that i have never heard noddy missing a note.... i have a feeling i won't be saying that after hearing tabby tonight.

by the way i watched the xtra show last night and have to say rowetta is sounding great with her u2 track...but, cassie is struggling big time...even her vocal coach was worried.

I'll be kind and make no comment on what I think about Rowetta covering a U2 song . I agree about Cassie though. Choosing that song is a risk for anyone because its damn difficult to sing.

Well when most people hear it they think of good old Mick.

I still think Cowell will make some kind of sad comment like: "See Mick, that's how you do it" or some crap like that.

We'll have to disagree on that one.
I dont even remember Mick Hucknell singing it tbh. (Probably something I've chosen to wipe from my memory). Its probably got a lot to do with age tbh.

Some of them are very predictable!

VWS - Verity?

G4 - Don't Look Back in Anger

I'm soooooo looking forward to this. I HATE Oasis so much and I am going to relish watching G4 murder the song (twisted, I know)

Rowetta - SHFWILF

Great choice for her. From rehearsals, sounds like Ro will do her own version of this. Still not my cup of tea, though.

Cassie - Without You

I'm worried. Cassie was out of her depth in rehearsals I do hope she gets over this.

Tabby - Slade thing

Just have to wait and see.

Vee - Wind Beneath My Wings

Hate the song, can't stand Vee. Should be entertaining in that ancient Rome kind of way

The rest are predictable and not very interesting.

Steve - Good choice of song, but yes he will need to moderate the grin
Cassie - I think she will deliver with this song - she has an effortless voice and can hit all the right notes
Rowetta - a good song choice for her deep voice--didn't M-people cover this?
Tabby - no idea -don't know the song
Verity- likely to do it only OK-ish but not likely to impress and she is under pressure now. Could well be last week for her.
2 to Go - I only know "Always" by Stevie Wonder ...surely its not that...!
VWS - Rather predictable and I think they will be bottom 2 again
G4- novelty interest value only- should keep them in another week but why keep murdering perfectly good songs of a wholly different genre...give them some proper harmonising toons - Beach Boys or something...

G4 will wow the public again tonight. Their novelty factor (arguably the X Factor) is way above everbody else.

Hmmm...I think its novelty, yes, but the novelty will wear offand they to start singing songs more suited to close harmonies...

The chicken guy had the novelty factor, I wouldn't say he had the X factor though
