I think the songs are specifically aimed at the age group of the tv audience on a Sat. night. Most younger people(I said most) will be out on the town. Oh the memories of that.

This is a slow song taken from one of their albums. If it was ever released as a single it would have been one of their later ones.

But its on at 6pm. Even as a schoolage teen, i wouldnt have gone out til later than that.
As an older, clubbing teen, I didnt go out til about 10.30 - 11pm, so plenty of younger people must watch the show.

But totally agree with you. As a 19 weeks pregnant, 30+ person, I look back as distant memories the days I used to go out on a Saturday.
Still, got a bonfire bash to go to next week. Oh the glamour

I agree that the show will be aired in order to catch as many voters as possible. The young don't have as much money....I often didn't go out until later at that age.

If you look out in the local press the old soul acts quite often play local theatres and the prices are not too extortionate. Butlins also hold soul weekends (if you can put up with Butlins) where a number of the old acts play. In the past four or five years I've seen Stylistics, Drifters . Rose Royce without Gwen Dickey, Gwen Dickey, Heatwave, Leee John, Jimmy Ruffin, Real Thing and Edwin Starr so many times I think he thought we were stalkers (RIP Edwin ). If you get the chance to see any of them jump at it, they are all excellent.

I am hating this choice of song for her because the chorus is really best sung by someone who can welly big power notes, and I don't think that's Cassie's forte. I'm awfully afraid that instead of using her voice naturally (when it is very flexible and seemingly effortless) she'll try and force it to fake a powerhouse sound, and that would be a huge mistake.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think this song is going to do her any favours.

Not bothered about any of the others tbh - I think most of them will cope anyway, though it will be interesting to see if Verity has conquered her nerves at all.
