I set progammes to be recorded once a week. Yesterday I found that two progames had been missed. I checked and they were listed in the recorinding schedule.

I observed that for some unknown reason I had previously used the sort option on the record schedule so that an out of date instruction was in position 1.

Could this have been the cause? Is it a known issue?

It subsequently recorded programmes correctly once I had reordered the schedule.

I assume you mean PVR9200T ?
Do you know which version of firmware your PVR9200 is using ?
Was the PVR either on or in standby, when it successfully recorded and when it failed ?
When in standby, does the clock on the front show the correct time, or something else ?

Indeed in several years use this was the first time it did not record.

Its on all the time. But every few months I switch it off for a few minutes.

This evening it was scheduled to record three programmes. So it started in standby. It missed the first programme completely.

I checked it during the second. I thought the hd was running but there was no record symbol. I brought it to life and looked at the list of recorded programmes. As this point it sprang to life and started recording - the last 15mins.

The thrid programme was imediately after - it recorded this without any problem.

I think that Humax PVRs need to be left continuously "on" rather than in standby, to avoid them missing programmes.

Classic tuning problems, you need to do a Manual Search. I've not got my instruction on this computer so I suggest you look back through my posts until you find my Manual Search instructions, or maybe someone has a link and will post.

That doesn't make it true. If yours misses recordings when in STANDBY then your machine is probably miss-tuned as well.

Thanks for the suggetion, but it is definately not mistuned.

If I let it record from standby, it doesn't download the guide soon enough after one recording to get the next one ( two minutes later ). If I turn the machine on before the sequence of programmes I want it to record, it gets them all.

This might work for other users too. It's very easy to and cheap to try.

My 9200 records consecutive programmes quite happily from STANDBY so I don't understand what you mean by this, could you explain? I'm pretty sure the guide doesn't need to be downloaded between recordings for them to be successful.

Mine's a 9150T. Perhaps they're different.
The most consistent miss is the second Coronation Street on Mondays. From standby, it misses the 8.30pm show. From "on", it records both shows fine.

Does the PVR come on (briefly) 15 minutes before the programme's start time? If it does it is then not in standby, although it looks like it is with no AV output or front-panel channel name.

There are persistent reports (but not confirmed) that 1.00.26 introduced a bug that affected the consecutive recording of programs.

Fair enough then Martin but I have not yet seen this on my friend's 9300 running v26. Her machine records more consecutive programmes and dual tuner work than mine does.

Interesting. I don't have access to a 9150/9300 so don't know but there have been a fair number of reports from various people since 1.00.26 came out. Perhaps you could persuade your friend to schedule three consecutive recordings on the same channel and see if they work.

Will do but I may have to wait until the end of the week so I can be sure she is doing what I want her to do. It did miss a second Corro (Monday or Friday) a few weeks ago but I think that was related to something else.

Three consecutive programmes set to record on Channel 4 between 04:10 and 05:55 tomorrow on my friend's 9300. She has software auto update set at the default time of 04:00 so that might be a spanner in the works but I want to see what happens. I know that a recording in progress will take priority over the auto update but I'm not sure what happens if a recording is set to start just after the auto update time, although in this case the Hummy should 'wake up' at 03:55.

All programmes recorded correctly capturing full programme content as normal, three more consecutive recordings from STANDBY set for today. She reminded me that for the last few weeks she's been recording four consecutive programmes on Monday from ITV1, the three soaps and the Cornwall programme between 19:00 and 21:00, no problems. These would have been recorded from the ON state.

It would be interesting to know whether the three soaps can be recorded on Mondays from standby.

Certainly they can on Fridays on the 9200 and 9300, same ITV1 soap schedule as Mondays. Let's face it, if you couldn't record from STANDBY on these machine then they wouldn't be fit for purpose. As I said earlier the usual cause of this problem is incorrect tuning.

Can you try recording the three soaps on Monday from standby, just to humour me? We would then know whether these machines are indeed fit for purpose.

Sorry my friend is not normally out on a Monday so her 9300 is ON.

EDIT. Actually that's not true, she is out on a Monday about every 4 weeks, book club or something, so she has obviously recorded the ITV1 Monday soaps from STANDBY lots of times and not had a problem. So humoured you are.
