I'll set some recordings this evening on my friends 9300 for tonight and post what they are. If you set those same recordings under the same conditions it might be interesting if we get a failure.


My friend has the same soap series links as you but as I said before she's not reported a failure to me in the past. She also has The Dales on series link from 20:00 to 20:30 which I think replaces the Cornwall programme she had on series link in previous weeks.

I've set four consecutive single programme reservations from BBC1 starting with Film 2012 at 01:45 and ending at 06:00 with the end of BBC News. Recordings will be made from STANDBY.

So have I.

For me, the first three recorded; the fourth one didn't.

The first three recorded, the fourth one (BBC News) failed on my friend's v26 9300. All programmes recorded correctly on my v23 9200.

My friend has set three consecutive recordings from BBC2 for tonight. The first is The Super League Show at 03:15 followed by the two True Stories programmes ending at 06:00. Single programme reservations and recorded from STANDBY.

I won't know the result of the ITV1 soaps and The Dales recordings until much later tonight or even tomorrow morning.

Emmerdale 7pm, Coronation Street 7.30pm, Coronation Street 8.30pm, Whitechapel 9pm all recorded OK from ITV1.
Coronation Street 9.30pm recorded OK from ITV1+1.

For me, all three programmes from BBC2 recorded successfully.

The three consecutive recordings from BBC2 were all successful. The four consecutive recordings of the ITV1 soaps and The Dales were all successful. A reservation for the second Corro on ITV1+1 (21:30 - 22:00) failed. This was a single recording with no others immediately before, during or after so I don't know what happened there.

Another friend with a v26 9300 set Family Guy and American Dad as a Series-Link last night. The four consecutive programmes were flagged in the EPG to record but only the first Family Guy and the first American Dad recorded, the other two failed.

I made reservations last night for Family Guy and American Dad (four consecutive programmes) on my friend's v26 9300 using Series-link, previously she'd used single programme reservations. Like with my other friend's test using Series-Link only the first Family Guy and the first American Dad recorded, the other two failed. All tests have been done from STANDBY.

For the last few weeks, our 9150T has not missed any recordings. On Mondays, I have been setting the recorder to "on" well before I wanted it to record: this has worked.
Last night, it failed to record from "on" the ITV1 8.30pm transmission of Coronation Street. Fortunately, we noticed before 9.30pm, so were able to record it from ITV1+1.

It's a problem with Series-Links in the one week after the clock change, my 9200 and my friend's 9300 are showing the same. Our Series-Links for Emmerdale and Corro picked up Emmerdale and the first Corro last night but all other episodes through the week are not flagged to record, however next Monday's episodes are flagged and if you left it alone then I think all future episodes would also be flagged to record. It happened last autumn and it's annoying but it's not the end of the world, just delete the Series-Links for the affected programmes and recreate them.

Mine has been fine. Why do you think that is?

I've no idea Luis as I've no idea of how the Series-Link code works but I do know a similar thing happened last autumn after the clock change. I suspect it might be something to do with the way the EPG shows incorrect times for programmes after the clock change until the Sunday morning when the clocks actually change, only a guess though. In the autumn I left one of my Series-Links to see if the programme would continue to be recorded the following week, and it did.

Similar problems for me on my 9200 with several recordings on BBC and ITV Channels not set to record and also several programmes again on BBC and ITV which were shown in the Recording Schedule at times 1 hour early. Not all recordings were affected though.

Re missed consecutive recordings.

This has started happening on our 3 year old 9300T since the upgrade to UPTTF 1.00.26 last August.

The main culprit is Come Dine with Me where 4 or 5 programs are shown back to back on Saturday afternoons. We went on holiday for over a fortnight in August and the unit stopped recording after the first CDWM and didn't record anything else the entire time we were away. Have done numerous manual retunes, reset to defaults and reinitialised the hard drive but nothing has cured this. Spoke to Humax who said no-one else had reported the problem and as the unit is out of warranty we would have to send it to them for repair at our expense and it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.
We have bought a new one and it has exactly the same fault with CDWM but it does seem to restart itself after the CDWM episodes.
We also have an old 9200 connected to the same aerial which works fine.
Suspect it has also missed Top Gear on BBC2 when recording the previous programme.
The unit is left in standy and the recordings are series linked using accurate recordings. Even if series link isn't used and the episodes are set up separately, it will still miss some.
This fault has definitely only started happening since the new software was installed which appears to have changed the logic on series recordings.
Have had no response to emails so have written to Humax (at the Brentford Address) offering to send the unit back to them to investigate as long as it would be at their expense, but had no reply.
We are getting quite annoyed by this and thinking of resorting to small claims to reclaim the cost of a new unit (and put it towards the cost of another model).
Could those of you reporting some issues please try the Come Dine with Me recording. I'm sure others must be having the same problems then we could try to put pressure on Humax to acknowledge that there is a problem and investigate some sort of fix.

I think Humax might be telling porkies there because it is becoming common knowledge that there appears to be a consecutive recording problem when recording from STANDBY with v26 software.

My friend continues to do tests for me with her v26 9300 recording the four consecutive programmes of Family Guy and American Dad. Basically if the 9300 is left ON then all four programmes are recorded without fail. If the 9300 is in STANDBY, more times than not one or two programmes fail and it seems to be the second Family Guy or the second American Dad or both, I don't remember the first episode of either programme being missed. I'm recording the same programmes with my v23 9200 and it never fails.

If the consecutive recording problem becomes a problem for my friend with her everyday recordings then I have suggested that we load v23 back into her 9300.
