My friend continues to do tests for me with her v26 9300 recording the four consecutive programmes of Family Guy and American Dad. Basically if the 9300 is left ON then all four programmes are recorded without fail. If the 9300 is in STANDBY, more times than not one or two programmes fail and it seems to be the second Family Guy or the second American Dad or both, I don't remember the first episode of either programme being missed. I'm recording the same programmes with my v23 9200 and it never fails.

If the consecutive recording problem becomes a problem for my friend with her everyday recordings then I have suggested that we load v23 back into her 9300.”

I have done exactly the same tests and found the same problem.

I also agree with what you said about HUMAX and them slightly altering the truth. I know that I reported it to both HUMAX UK and also HUMAX Taiwan.

My thoughts on this one are that it is to do with the scheduler that have built into their firmware. It needs a certain amount of time to process the schedule but to do that it has to take the box out of STANDBYE, check the Now / Next data that is coming in of the broadcaster then schedule the program, then go back into STANDBYE...quite a lot to do...

Using "On Time" settings and on standby on my Humax 9300 setting record for BBC1 Match of the Day and the Football League show afterwards, the latter did not record last night. This has happened before, so could be a good test of this problem. Match of the Day scheduled to finish at 1155, but displays on recorded list with an end time of 1151. The Football League show still shows on the Schedule awaiting to record yesterday (21st) at 11.54.

Last night there were about nine consecutive Family Guy programmes and no American Dads. My friend's v26 9300 recorded all nine from STANDBY but my v23 9200 only recorded the first four, all were flagged in the EPG to record. My 9200 usually records all consecutive FG/AD programmes without fail but looks like it's caught the v26 disease, at least last night.

Mine (9300T version .26) does this.....I thought it was in standbye. Could you explain what state this is then.

Thanks in advance.

I assume that the 9150 and 9300 handle accurate recording in the same way as the 9200.
When in standby, the tuners are not powered and the only ways to wake the PVR from standby are manually from the remote or front panel, or automatically by the internal clock.
The accurate recording feature allows for programmes starting after or before the scheduled time. The only way to tell if a programme is to start at a different time than scheduled is by monitoring the relevant data in the broadcast stream. Hence the PVR boots up early to power the tuners and process the incoming data, but shuts down the outputs and mimics standby mode on the front panel.
