Anyone Warming To Jesse J?
I was a fan of her years before she released her album and became big in the UK. The YouTube videos she did online were amazing and I was hoping she'd one day get signed. Eventually she did and I was really happy and looked forward to her album. I really didn't think much of it though and I thought 'Do It Like A Dude' was actually the worst track on the album. I thought the album itself was extremely well written and she's an amazing song writer, but I thought it was a bit of meh album...neither here nor there really. I also felt that she was starting to come across a bit too up herself in interviews and thought a hell of a lot of herself. She seems to have calmed down quite a bit though and since I heard 'Domino', I've given her album another listen and I'm starting to appreciate her a lot more now. Anyone else warming to her? I do think though that for her second album she needs to write more pure pop songs that are current, like 'Domino'. She's a fantastic song writer and there's not a lot of pure pop around at the moment that's actually decent. I didn't like a lot of the stuff she wrote about o the first album.

I liked Who's Laughing Now and not much else. Whenever I see her interview or TV performance I just go straight off her.

Nope. I'm not. I just find her so incredibly desperate for fame it makes me feel queasy.

Quite the opposite, she's not really interested me at all since Do It Like A Dude and Price Tag.

i like like her to be honest and it doesn't bother me that she seems pretty much disliked in forums. the album could have been better, but the singles were good. hopefully, she will make a better 2nd album.

Im not fussed, her album was very disappointing, extremely generic, i was expecting much more.
And everytime i look at her i cant help but think "HYPOCRITE", "Its not about the money, money, money", er....then why are you making people buy your songs and albums? |

Some of her songs are ok. Price Tag, Who's Laughing Now and Domino are my favourite songs of hers.

Sometimes she's alright. Sometimes I want to slap her silly. Especially when she oversings everything.

She also annoys me with her constant promoting of her latest single on Twitter, I had to un-follow her it was so excessive.
The worst offender for that however, is Dappy. Constantly banging on about how he wants everyone to buy his new single and get it to number one. I hate it when so called "artists" do that, shows that they really are just in it for the money, money, money. And breathe. |

She seems like a nice person heading for definite over exposure in which case she is starting to really grate.
Also having enjoyed DILAD and PT her album was just down right pants absolute tripe no spark or soul or much of anything for that matter just appalling and full of cheese ridden filer. |

Always liked Jessie
She does good pop tunes but realistically, her true talent isn't shown at all with the music she has presented us. |

I've gone off her in all honesty. She's become the UK's version of Katy Perry - releasing generic but sure fire hit songs.

The only Jessie J song I like is 'Who's Laughing Now'. I don't mind her in interviews, but have no real interest in her music.
Domino sounds too much like Katy Perry. It odd because had Katy Perry have sang it i'd probably have really liked it, but there is something about Jessie Js voice that I don't like. |

I actually liked Price Tag for a while but it sort of became annoying to me. I loved Nobody's Perfect and Who's Laughing Now, and even liked Who You Are. I haven't seen any Jessie J interviews really but at the BRITs she came across as OK.
What I do agree on though is her annoying over-singing when she sings live. She tries to put herself in the league of the big vocalists and she just doesn't belong there. She's got a good voice but not a diva voice so she shouldn't try and do all those notes. She's better at singing than your average popstar nowadays, but she isn't good enough to be considered in the league of Adele, Leona, Alexandra etc. |

I just like my music, no matter what style or genre, to have a bit of heart and soul. Her music lacks both. If I had to describe to an alien what a generic bog standard pop singer was, I'd just show them Jessie J.

Not my bag tbh. Quite overrated as a singer and performer imo. She seems like a nice girl from her interviews but she's not really my thing. Who's Laughing Now is probably her best song.

I liked her second half of 2010 before she was released but when her youtube videos were gaining attention. Not too impressed with Do It Like a Dude and can't abide Price Tag, but I like everything that followed. So music wise I'm warming to her.
as a person though, when I see her interviewed and she goes on and on she seems very irritating and luvvie and it puts me off her completely. Not looking forward to her on The Voice to be honest, I think she's going to be very pretentious. |
