I was watching the first few episodes of BB7 on youtube

And a few things struck me.

First how without the buzz of forums and live stream the episodes just make it all about strategy and it gets a bit tiring. I don't know if that is just how it was back then and they focus a bit more on the personal now, but it does seem a bit one dimensional.

The interviews with the family members through the episodes seem a bit manipulative, like they are trying to make us think about HGs in a particular way. They are doing this now in the eviction show over here, but in a kind of irrevelant way and live rather than manipulative and prepared. I've never really been interested in what family have to say anyway, I'd rather just concentrate on the house.

Also the way they spread the eviction votes and/or reasons for them through the show is a bit annoying, I'd rather they were just all put together and done live. But now all we get really is them just saying a name and that's it.

I agree about the evictions now, I would like to know a reason why they are evicted that person, but I assume its because they dont have enough time due to showing highlights, eviction vote, interview and HoH comp all in 45 mins. Really I think they need a extra show before the evictions to let us get to know the houseguests more, as the seasons have gone on it seems the show focuses too much on game play and only a small fraction of getting to know someone.

All Stars seasons are usually less 'personal' because we already know the contestants (or their TV personas at least), which means the game starts sooner.

Compare a series like BB3 to BB13 and you can see how much less personal and more strategy focused the programme has gotten (I think I knew more about Tonya than I did about Porsche - what did we learn about her apart from being a model?)

I agree that the family segments are the worst parts of the live shows - BBUK and BBUSA both seem to be having issues with their eviction episodes sticking to a formula that's getting incredibly old and not really working as much as it used to (and in the UK's case, that's reflected in the Friday ratings).

I agree, more shows would be better. Now we get Julie telling us before they vote who we expect them to vote for and why, I think it is better if we heard it from them themselves. I suppose they have such a tight schedule they don't want them to speak much in the DR.
