Cauliflower
When YOU prepare cauliflower, do you throw the outer leaves away ?
I have always done this, but I don't know why. They are edible, aren't they ? |

I never throw them away. Cauli would look awful bland without a bit of green and they taste fine.

Depends on how withered they are. And even then they'll get fed to the chooks.

Cauliflower is fantastic. Just steamed, steamed and chopped up small with butter and lots of black pepper, with white sauce, with potatoes as pommes dubary or as crème dubary soup.
I've never used the outer leaves, though. |

I know they can be eaten but to be honest I never bother, they get composted. Sprout tops on the other hand are lovely...better than the actual sprouts for my money
