I agree. They should concentrate on what they do best and stop messing with pop songs. Perhaps they should go the whole hog and sing something from musicals, such as 'Red and Black' from Les Miserables. The tweenies might not like it but a lot of the viewers would and they would respect their choice

I'm not going to argue with you. Not everything I say is something to defend or argue against.

I think it's obvious from what I tell you that I don't take it so seriously.
If I tell you I'm just being flippant,...then that's what I am.
If i tell you I don't take it so seriously,...just accept that.

If you don't believe me, it's up to you. But please stop posting to tell me what I feel. It's not necessary.
I really shouldn't need to have to defend who I am, or how I am feeling.

I don't think you are attacking me. I just think you are passing judgements on me that just aren't true. I'm just saying that kind of stuff can tend to get out of hand. It's avoidable.

Yes, I did see your thread about being disappointed with G4. It was very fair of you.
And no I didn't judge G4's performance before I heard it,...I criticised Louis' choice of song again, speculating on how it looked like things would go based on the pattern that has emerged so far.
And as it turned out, some people did feel it turned out the way I speculated. So to some extent my speculation was justified.

Are we fine with each other now?

Sure we are. Never anything personal intended on my part. I have far more respect for people who have the courage of their convictions than those that are 'yes men'. I enjoy a bit of healthy debate, and, as far as I'm concerned, that is all this is .

I'm glad that you understand me.

Yes, I do rant, and take swipes, but there is no real hate behind it.
Honestly.

It's just a posting style, and I deliberately do try to spice it up, and put lots of spin in there.

It's kind of like just posting freely so that I can basically put my thoughts across. If I wrote with no energy to it, I simply wouldn't get as much content in the post.
I do deliberately go back and check my post to make sure I haven't been accidentally offensive.
I do try to be measured.
If I start a thread, I find it more important to make sure there is content in there for anyone to agree or disagree with, than simply saying what I do or don't like. I feel it's important to explain the reason behind opinions.

Because that's all they are for the most part. Right and wrong doesn't always come into it.

It's not like I am a psychopathic G4 stalker
And I don't wish them any harm or anything. They seem nice people.

But I do feel I have to try and put my points across in a way that provokes someone to think a bit.
Maybe sometimes I manage that, other times I won't.
So sometimes coming across quite strong is something I feel I should do.

But I honestly do try to construct something that may have something worthwhile in it. I'm honestly not in a blind rage when I post.

I am happy that you realise where I am coming from now, and am glad that we got to sort things out.
You are always free to PM me if you want to ask if I have a problem with something, and although I may look harsh to G4 I will be approachable to you.

Ooh, I overdid it with the smilies there.

I knew that G4 would screw this up, and they did!

Maybe as has been suggested, Louis is picking the wrong songs for them.

G4 are now by far my least favourite act in this competition, they get worse every week as far as I'm concerned.

This is a shame, as I was quite excited by them in their audition and they were one of the reasons that I stuck with watching this show all of the way through.

Exactly the same here, which is maybe why we've been clashing lol.

As you said, I would far rather debate with someone who posts in an intelligent way rather than just posting a one-line comment with nothing to back it up.

It's all good.

I like G4, especially Jonathan, but I think that Don't Look Back In Anger was a ridiculous choice of song for them tonight. What is Louis Walsh on? If he picks a bad choice of song again for them next week, then they could be out...

Top post Mes, love the cheese analogy,(heavy on the anal-ology )
G4 were astounding bad tonight IMO trying to garner favour by association is flawed...VERY flawed.
All the facial gurning they do is also really getting on my wotsit's....stop it will ya!
Novelty band, novelty future, quite like a few others from the final 9,I might add,IMO of course.

I think they're extremely safe for a few weeks.

A lot of money will already have been put on them. And I think that secures a lot of votes for a start.

More votes than say an act who hasn't acheived as much popularity, and who still isn't standing out.

G4 can probably get away with bad performances for at least a couple of more weeks.
Some acts like 2 to Go, or Voices with Soul, for example, will struggle even if G4 perform poorly.

Lots of bets already put on G4, a lot of people will want to try and protect their investment. (To an extent)
Maybe not as many people will care as much about some of the less prominent acts, as there would be less riding on them. If they aren't too bothered, they won't vote.

If big money has already gone on G4. I think they will last for several weeks easily. It guarantees a quotient of telephone votes.
I bet you anything, G4 will do a stinker of a performance one week, often is the case with these things, but they will sail through despite that.

I think they have already done that.My opinion is that they were awful and very lucky to escape the two bottom places. If they perform like that again, they really deserve to go.

Louis must be held totally responsible for that performance (and also the stylist for their awful outfits). The only saving grace (which Simon commented on) was that the singing was good. My prediction is that lessons will have been learnt, Louis will eat humble pie and next week will see them back on track with a stonking performance, provided he stops trying to turn them into a boyband clone.

Why as they said it was there arrangment, it just shows they have no ability to adapt to a song with emotions.

It was awful, truly awful. They really are a one-trick pony, and the sooner they leave the show the better. They'll be picked up by somebody, produce one album that'll be a minor hit-ette and then they'll fade into obscurity once the novelty wears off. They get on my tits

I`m sorry I don`t agree. Simon will be signing them (he has said as much). Louis will know he made a terrible mistake last night and I hope he hangs his head in shame during playback today. The boys should be allowed to choose their own songs - what he put them through last night was dreadful but lessons will have been learned. I fully expect next week we will be getting more "sensational" comments from Simon. Have faith all you G4 fans

Well....I was a supporter...but to be honest they crashed out of my respect last night....I admit I may have been wrong about them. Let's see what happens next week with their stunning version of Bob the Builder...complete with wearing day-glo dungerees....I'm not holding my breath though......

Isn't this exactly why peeps said that G4 were a joke outside their genre?

They have managed to murder every song they have done (apart from BR) and it's getting worse each week. DLBIA was shocking. I even felt sorry for them for a bit. To be worse than Auntie Vee and her Special Voice is saying something.

It just isn't going to work on the X Factor. They'd be better off singing in cathedrals and the like. But then, perhaps I have no vision, unlike Louis the genius who seems to be sending the guys off to hell in a hand basket.
