I really can't stand Beyonces releases or music but she is in a different league to Rhianna.

Beyonce appeals to people of all ages for different reasons, some like her voice, some her music. Even older people who were fans of Destinys Child.

Rhianna seems to appeal to teenagers and is "fashionable" at the moment but teens grow up their tastes change and as Rhianna ages i doubt she will have much to offer.

overall Beyonce is far ore talented but in terms of music her output except for 4 has been pretty poor Rihanna just seems to release good pop tunes on a quick and regular basis its a shame she shot her self in the foot with Chris Brown already arguing with fans i see

I think it's a shame that it didn't sell as well as other albums. But to say Katy Perry sold just over 2m copies of Teenage Dream with 5 #1's, and so far after 8 months, Beyonce's sold 1.1m copies with no top 10 US hits, it's brilliant! ”

i know right. bey selling much faster than katy.

Rihanna has probably had the better singles but she will never be anywhere near Beyonce in terms of talent and performing.”

I think Rihanna has the fanbase for her to keep going. Just like Eminem, he can go away and come back and still make a hit. Both of them have a VERY loyal fanbase and Rihanna did not peak in the first album like many people do. She has gotten popular over time. People who peak at their debut usually drop and flop faster than a fat man into a swimming pool.

She has 52m fans on her Facebook page.

Not true. I saw plenty of middle aged people at her concert at the o2, and they weren't with teenagers.

I meant artistically I don't see the comparison. I don't think people will look back on 2012 talking about Adele vs Beyonce.

A "legend"? You've got to have talent to become one of those... The credit for her success should go to those behind her, those who write her songs and push her into the spotlight. I don't see her any different to any other pop/rnb artists... Her voice isn't all that either. None of her albums have actually been groundbreaking either, puts the odd good single out... But nothing that says "that's gonna played over and over in 20 years time". Whoever is behind her has to push an album as big as Adeles 21. Her most well known song is probably Umbrella or Disturbia (correct me if I'm wrong)? Neither are exactly gonna go down as classics, people seem to have moved on from them already. Shes fortunate as she's still young... I suppose she's only 23, perhaps I'm being too critical, most artists have not even got fame at that age. Had she been hitting 29/30 I would say it was over, it's difficult in this day to make big strides when you get older.

While she may have come along way she is no where near legend or icon or what ever other words you choose to throw around, in my opinion.
