She now seems like she is a fixture.

Definitely looking more relaxed as the weeks have gone on. She's paid no attention to the haters and I'm sure she's satisfied with how she's been doing.

The only thing I had against Christine was her partnership with Adrian Chiles - I've always quite liked Christine

I thought that, shes relaxed into the role and shes more confident when asking questions, etc.

She's got a much more laid back style than Holly Willoughby - it always used to crease me up when Holly would bellow 'Our ICE PANELLL!!!!!' at the start of the programme as if they were really exciting

i can take her or leave her myself. what i dont understand is why to they have two presenters for this show.

i would much prefer it if chris and jayne spoke to the skaters after their performances,

I can't get beyond Christine Bleakley's tombstone teeth and horrible accent. I don't think it's going to happen for me now. I was one of Holly Willoughbooby's knockers initially but then she won me over. But not CB.

Never understood why people disliked her anyway.

At least she doesn't have her chest up under her chin like Holly Willobooby.

What's wrong with an Irish accent? I like it.

There's nothing wrong with an Irish accent, but hers in particular sounds ugly to me.

Jennifer Ellison is just excruciating to listen to, Christine is much easier on the ears

I quite like her accent. There are only a few accents I don't like: Northern Ireland (nails on a blackboard), some Yorkshire accents, Geordie (completely unintelligible) and Manchestoh (the one that's used in Shameless).

I don't dislike her (inasmuch as I 'know' her - which isn't at all, considering I've only seen her on TV!) but I'm afraid that the accent really grates! Now, before I get shot down in flames, I know that's a really shallow thing to say, but if we're honest we all have an accent which grates on us (be it scouse, geordie, brummie or whatever). It just that for me (and unfortunately in this case) it happens to be the N.I, accent, which sounds so 'harsh' compared to the southern Irish one (but I don't much care for that either, to be honest). I suppose some of our accent prejudices come from where we come from ourselves - the 'flatter' or more neutral our own accent is (I'm from the Cotswolds originally, so naturally only had a bit of a Gloucester 'twang', and now I live in Jersey so it's more of a South African 'twang'!). The more 'neutral' our natural accent is, perhaps, the more the overtly regional accents impact on us when they are spoken. As I say, I know that's a really shallow reason for finding it hard to watch/listen to Christine, but I can't help it! From what I've read she seems to be really nice person.

It seems that she also comes across as 'cold' and 'aloof' to some viewers. Perhaps she is just unsure of herself - just because you are on TV as your job doesn't automatically mean you're not shy (for example). I'm naturally a person lacking in self-confidence when it comes to 'presenting' myself to others in public, and I have been accused of being 'cold' and 'aloof' because I'm so scared of being noticed by other people. But because I'm a teacher no one believes me when I try and explain! If I had a fiver for each time I'd heard "but you're a teacher - how can you have no confidence?" I'd never have to work again! So it may be that Christine is the same - because she's on the TV no one can believe she's unsure of herself (if that is what makes her seem 'aloof').

However, if Christine is seen as 'fitting in' a bit better surely that can only be a good thing?

With that essay, you so are a teacher!

I agree with you too.

Yes but the questions she asks are innane often, and she's got a habit of saying precisely the wrong thing. The last thing you want is someone saying other people enjoyed your act or the judges have their own particular viewpoint - and boosting that person's vote - when the judges and producers are trying to get rid of the most rubbish performer. Holly has vastly more experience and could help ease people out of the show when needed - Christine is an unguided missile there. She's also less good at shutting the rambling contestants up - as shows every week with Andy and Chico.

She's got nothing basically to do with the current, duller, judging panel all mouthing niceties - there's nothing to smooth over, or to cheer people up over. All thats left is to stand next to Phil and ask how happy people are with their score or something else obvious - which Phil could easily do.

Guilty as charged - and an English teacher to boot too (I'm so sorry, can't help it honestly!).

She has relaxed but I think her days as a presenter are pretty numbered. She really doesn't fit the mould of many programmes. Not glamorous enough or young enough to play the Dolly Willoughby daydream card, and not obviously bright enough to do something journalistic. I also think she messed up her relationship with the public when she switched to ITV for so much dosh on a failed programme. I don't think people like the WAG connection either. I think she is probably a perfectly nice quite ordinary girl who found herself in extraordinary circumstances and played it all wrong. Let's hope Frank comes up trumps

So sorry to have caused you distress. I did apologise for my verbosity - it comes with the territory.

I'll be honest now.

I thought she was going to annoy me intensely (which she has done in the past) but she's actually better than the Blessed Holly and imho is doing a good job and deserves recognition for that.

She's fine for the semi serious stuff like the one show alongside male Bluepeter presenters. Holly by comparison started in children's TV and worked her way up. At one end of her career she amassed experience of dealing with the mindfield of children and live TV - and she's since branched out into the late night comedy shows and shows for ITV/BBC3 type audiences.
