I liked, "T.H.E" and who knows, Shakira & Nicole Scherzinger as collaberations have me interested. I doubt I'll buy the album, unless I can get hooked into Will.i.am himself, though.

Oh, Britney.

But it's said she won't be recording anything until at least December, so I suppose this'll do in keeping her out there.

Oh dear... that many collaborations? Sorry but that's pathetic.

Not really his album then is it. And that T.H.E song is dreadful Got to be one of the most overrated artists out there today. Produced crappy tunes that could be made on a mobile phone.

Wrong. Will.i.am is amazing with synthesisers and sample based music. Believe it or not, it takes a huge amount of musical talent and knowledge to know which sounds to put together to create tracks that sound like his....

#Willpower sounds great....Songs About Girls didn't really impress me as an album, so I hope this one is a lot better than that. Britney, Nicole, Alicia and Shakira sound like interesting collaborations.

I think that tells us enough, he sells records because he gets big names on his tracks.. nothing more. I stand by what I said, completely overrated. He had one or two decent songs with BEP, everything else though was horse sh*t.

He sits on a laptop and puts some crappy tunes together.

Looks like you must be one of those, 'if it's electronic it's not music' people....

If his stuff was so crap BEP would have ended years ago...they've been going since the 90s, and will.i.am has been the driver of their success. I personally love his use of samples...especially some of the songs on Fergie's album, and his own....

It takes a lot of musical knowledge to piece sounds together like that and make it work....see Check It Out which was also great....fair enough you don't like the guy, but don't start belittling his ability, because he definitely has talent as a producer.....

Pitbull has been going since 2002? Does that mean he's any good? Just means people are easily pleased.

Personally, I rather see and hear someone pick up a guitar and sing a song... then some tw*t in matching red gloves/glasses and have a ridiculous amount of voice effects.

I actually rather love Black Eyed Peas (some phases more than others), and I think will.i.am does get a bit of a hard time. He makes fun music, not exactly earth shattering or anything, but he is talented at what he does. He knows how to make a hit.

It's laughable that you think he constitutes electronic music. You've obviously never listened to Burial/Boards of Canada/Four Tet/ Aphex Twin/ this list goes on and on.

You can make better music with a mobile phone than you can with a guitar imo.

Yeah, will.i.am gets a hard time from basically anyone who can't remember any music from before 2010. To be honest, before The Time in 2010, he bearly got any criticism in comparison to now. It seems people suddenly forgot the hundreds of songs he's made and can only remember The Time and Don't Stop the Party.

I think some of will.i.am's songs are better than some guitar songs.

What bands/artists who primarily use guitar would you rate him above?

I'm a fan of BEP, but for some reason i've never been able to get into his solo stuff (Apart from that "I got it from my mama" song)

His solo stuff, to me... Just sounds empty, unoriginal and a little bit boring (Especially the songs he's done with that Cheryl hag)

Lots of them. Foo Fighters, Mumford and Sons, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Noah and the Whale, Elbow, and many others.

Yes, yes, I know those are not the best representation of guitar music, but I'm not into that genre of music in general to be honest. Whilst will.i.am is one of my favourite producers.

I could easily fill my mp3 player with rock/alternative songs if I wanted to, but I don't. I find Black Eyed Peas songs more enjoyable to listen to.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree because I think it's incredible you've put bands like Elbow and Foo Fighters on there. If you're not into that genre of music, how have you come up with that list?

I don't like his newer music and I am a fan of electronic music in general so I feel like I have comparisons to make.

Most of those artists have had big hits, that most people would know. Granted, I've only really heard the singles from most of those artists, like on the radio, etc. but the singles have never really made me curious to listen to a whole album.

The kind of "electronic" music will.i.am is doing now is very watered down and urbanized compared to the purer forms of electronic music, so it's understandable that a lot of fans of electronic music wouldn't like a lot of what will.i.am does.

Yeah I guess that's why I don't enjoy it. It feels like electronic music for the mainstream.

Yes. I think a lot of his new album will be mainstream sounding songs. I don't mind really. I find I like probably 85% if what will.i.am does, whether he does radio-friendly songs or not.

isn't the song with nicole scherzinger supposed to have a classical sound?

Yeah...he said

He also claimed his duet with Nicole Scherzinger qualifies as classical.

"This classical piece of music that I did with Nicole, it's beautiful," he said. "That girl sings like I've never heard anybody sing like that in pop culture. She is thebomb.com/isthatnicole?"

that might be another reason for her continued us album delay. i am kind of looking forward to the album too, i really didn't like the single though. i think there will be a mixture of sounds on there. some are complaining about the amount of collaborations. however, mark ronson`s version was like that and it was a good record.
