Songs NOT about love
I'm getting a bit sick of listening to love songs so does anyone know any good songs about pretty much anything except for love?
A few starters: Pinball Wizard - The Who Yertle the Turtle - Red Hot Chili Peppers White Riot - The Clash Golden Brown - The Stranglers Ugly - The Sugababes Transmission - Joy Division |

Return To Oz by Scissor Sisters is about drug abuse using the allegory of Oz, it's a really good listen. It's a slower one, which I always think they're better at.

"Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant is not about love; it's a song about a street in Brixton.
"Hole In The Ground" by Bernard Cribbins is not about love; it's a song about a hole in the ground. "I Am the Walrus" by the Beatles is not about love; it's a song about a walrus, an eggman, pretty little policemen in a row and semolina pilchards climbing up the Eiffel Tower. |

i always thought the song `the vistors` by abba, was a little out of character with its political undertones.

Any song from the latest generic electro-pop phase will pretty much give you songs that have nothing to do with love.
Mainly just sex, dancing, clubs and "shawty's". |

madonna`s done loads, too many to remember in one go. throwaway songs like `music`, `vogue` and `into the groove`. her political `american life`, her reflective `hollywood` which sort of counteracts `material girl` and songs about grieving like `promise to try`.
she has also done songs about love gone wrong like `till death do us part` and female empowerment like `express yourself`.

Musical cast recordings often have songs that aren't about love. The Fix for example has some about drug abuse and politics
