HDD Sales:

21 - #4 (44,008 sales)
19 - #21 (6,749 sales)

O/T but listening to Whitney as I write this. Ugh, her music never gets old. RIP.

Hey Charlie! Lionel had a tv special Friday night and Gotye was on SNL. I think she will end at #2 this week.

Looks like Jason Mraz next week
The Wanted the following week
Carrie Underwood three weeks from now.
Chris Brown May 8.
Chance at May 15 but she will need Mothers day push or BB nomination push or promo of some kind.
Usher next.
Kanye.
Takes us to June 1.
I think 21 will settle around 85k per week until new promo comes out (apart from Mother's day and bb awards).

Ugh. I want 24 weeks and then we can let this era slowly end.

I'm guessing she will just let this era die down now. It's done enough but I'd love to see it end with a performance or a video. Maybe that was what the Grammys and Brits were about.

i think that'd be wise tbh. It's getting to the point where it could turn people against her, and also hamper the rest of her career. It'll continue to sell steadily enough without pushing it anyway.

Time to move on

She's loved up and imo doesn't want to do any more promo. And I DO think she wields big power at her label - if she doesn't want to do it, she doesn't, although I'm sure the label would love her to. Good on her, I say.

I'm gonna stay selfish right now and say, one more performance. Just one. Or that RHI video mentioned above!

This is from Pink. From Time Magazine's 100 most influential.
Turn on any radio station in the world and you will probably hear Adele. Go to Mars right now and I'm pretty sure if there is life on that planet, they're playing Adele. And for good reason.
There are a few artists in my life who I can think back and remember where I was when I first heard them. When you're so utterly moved by something that you know you'll never be the same again. When I first heard Adele, I was on tour, alone in a hotel room in London, watching her sing from a rooftop on YouTube — a song called "Hometown Glory." I thought, Who is this creature? This voice! Her tone! Why is the entire world not watching this video?
I'm always so happy when the world catches on to something great. Especially when it's authentic talent, great songwriting and a unique package. I am so relieved that Adele possesses the kind of beauty that she does, that she's crass and funny and that she sings live — and incredibly. Her success renews hope in me that the world I live in has good taste — that we still occasionally come back to what's simple, and simply amazing. I can't wait to hear what she does next.
Pink is a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter

A couple of weeks ago, the Official Charts Company reported that there was 89k between the two. However, providing that Thriller didn't sell at all last week, there's now only 67k between the two.

Yes, it won't be long before it happens, even at current (depressed) sales levels. Prepare for the mother of all internet backlashes....

PS Even by Adele's extraordinary standards this is really something! Not only absolutely smashing the album market but also the single market.

Quote:
“Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" this week becomes just the second song to top the 7 million mark in digital sales. It follows the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," which topped the 7 million mark in March 2011. Adele's song shaved a full six months off the time it took the Peas' song to sell 7 million digital copies. "Deep" is in its 67th week of release. "I Gotta Feeling" took 93 weeks to hit 7 million. The Peas' smash has sold 7,890,000 copies.”

Does anyone know if she is going to attend let alone sing? It could be just the final bit of promotion to push 21 towards diamond status in the states.

Adele back at number one - sales are now starting to fall off a bit but am sure many others would love Adele's sales figures just a few weeks after release never mind 63!

I don't think she'll sing tbh. I think she's slowly wrapping this era up. Which, by the way I'm gutted about. I would've loved to see her at the O2 Arena.

And she's STILL selling over 200k a week - in fact, this is her lowest sales week worldwide since 21 was released!

It looks like Adele is singing at Marcus Mumford's wedding today! If there was ever a time to crash a wedding this is it! Lucky Bastard!
