21 era is coming to end, there will be some more albums sold, more records broken, probably a few more awards.But I thought that for fans it could be time to try to look back at the beginnings of Adele's career, so below is a link to a playlist with all available recordings of Adele's public performances from 2006. It seems that the song she sung most, or at least which people recorded most, was one that never made it to her debut album 19, namely Painting Pictures. Also pay attention to the oldest comments. Already then, 5-6 years ago, before media started paying attention to her, there were people who could foresee her future career.

I would love to hear some old demos or songs that never made her albums. Songs seem to leak all the time from artists but never from Adele.

No, her songs do not leak. One reason might be that most of what she recorded in studio got published. And if she really didn't like a recording, it's locked under key. Like her version of INXS's Never Tear Us Apart. She hates what she did and it never leaked.

What we do have are bits and pieces from different occasions, like back the stage perfrormance of Steady As She Goes where she reads the lyrics form her mobile. But there are not many such recordings. Mostly we have just old versions of songs that later ended up on 19.

On the other hand some of the songs on her album are nearly demo versions, especially vocals.

Adele was named Billboard Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. two years in a row. While she stayed at home and had a baby. Nice!!

I hope they will give her this Oscar nomination and she shows up. It would be first time I see her live real time. Please....

There is no doubt that Set Fire to the Rain is a beautiful, under-rated song. Indeed, having decided my top 40 songs of 2004-13 today it made my top 20!

It's been understandably quiet here because nothing has happened with Adele in over two years now. That all will change soon though as she'll release her new album within the next five months. She's been working on this new album for a bit over a year now. She has written songs with Diane Warren and Ryan Tedder. Paul Epworth and Dan Wilson may have worked with her as well.

We know nothing about what this album sounds like but she's been happy since 2011 so it's fair to expect the album to sound happy. If someone didn't know, Adele has a stable relationship with Simon Konecki and they have a 2-year-old son Angelo. Tedder said that the stuff they have worked on together doesn't sound like anything on '21' and '19'. She is also planning a proper world tour this time around.

And perhaps we should have a little look back at everything Adele Adkins has achieved so far (she's only 26 yo).
- 37 million albums sold (30M of 21 and 7M of 19)

The only thing is that it turns me into an emotional wreck, going through a box of tissues. I have heard other people say it affects them like that too so its not just me.

This is the effect I can understand Someone Like You having on people more noticeably.

I think Adele has been wise to take some time out of the limelight. Her new material will sound fresher than had she rushed a follow-up to 21.
