I've typed Number One into the android market but it does not bring up a browser. Is my phone compatible? It is a SE Arc.

The OP is talking about Opera, a web browser.

Indeed, Opera Mobile to be precise (although there's a new beta of Opera Mini out too). Opera's own blog post about it is available here.

If you specifically search for "Opera Mobile 12" it won't come up, while searching for "Opera Mobile" brings up this. Opera Mini Next (the beta) is on there too.

Started using opera mini few weeks ago. Very happy with it and recommended it to loads of people. For better than the default browser.

While it might be the number one mobile browser, it isn't number one on Android or iOS.

Its success comes from being bundled with many "feature phones" that aren't as powerful as smartphones.

Given the App Store's restrictions, it's difficult for anyone to come up with a good alternative browser on iOS.

I strongly suspect Finbaar was kidding around there.
