To my disappointment what I thought was a Dido Rail is actually written (and I'm guessing should also be pronounced) 'Dado'. This turns a tiny corner of my world upside down and makes unavailable a little joke I was going to do here.

I thought the same thing, then i listened to her music again.

It was alittle overrated, i don't think she would have the same success again now.

Music Industry is now very different to the 80s/90s its faster than ever and it will chew you up and spit you out. Don't believe me? When is the last time you heard anything from B*Witched or Miss.Dynamite or Natasha Bedingfield? don't worry I'll wait.

Do chavs like Adele? I would have thought Cher Lloyd or Rihanna would be more their cup of tea.

She took a load of time off when her father died, then finally released Safe Trip Home with minimal promotion and it flopped.

Went to see her at Brixton Academy on my birthday back in 2004,I think it was, they filmed it for dvd release and I got on the dvd.

I was randomly wondering what happened to Dido and am glad I found this thread. I loved Thank You, White Flag, and Life For Rent. She was THE artist to aspire to when she was at her prime and then it was like she just disappeared overnight. I wonder if we will ever get a new solo album from her?

My guess is motherhood is her main priority nowadays. I do remember reading that she had no plans to tour Safe Trip Home and was going to start work on her fourth album straightaway and tour then. I'm guessing her falling pregnant got in the way of that. There have been reports of a new album this year.

Dido update, a family bereavement, a new son called Stanley ( after Stan?) and writing a new album.

She was the equivalent of Adele back in the day wasn't she, I remember i liked both her albums at the time when they came out, although i grew tired of her really quickly and moved onto something else without giving her a thought really and until i saw this thread i had totally forgotten she had ever existed...

I Had no idea she had released a 3rd album and i have followed the charts/commercial music for years, so am usually aware of who's releasing records etc so don't understand how this passed me by! Was it any good, or was it just more of the same?

I never liked Dido's music at all
Never understood the fuss at all but then again, I am sure people don't get the fuss of Adele

She did a few good songs. I know she had a baby but she has really gone off the radar when her third album flopped. I heard it lost the record label that much money, they had to sack a lot of employees to cover the costs.

Her hight moments was when she did callbos with faithless and Eminem. And some of the songs off her debut album and after that her time of fame was fading.Like Texas and Everything about the girl and her last album was bargin bin matron same style of music, and Jem did the same style of music and got little success but she will comeback again sometime.

I dont think we have heard the last of her, but like with a lot of artists who have had a long gap in making music its difficult to get back into it. If your just a pop pap artist that sings other peoples songs its easier but when your a songwriter its more difficult as you have to be able to get the enthusiasm to write again and to a high enough standard.

She certainly is one of the most talented female artists to ever come out of the UK and of course her voice was devine.
