Ive just been listening to some of Madonna's older songs, like Material girl, Express yourself and Ray of light, and ive realised that she is just, well....awesome! I can see why she is called the Queen of pop, her songs are so catchy and clever, and also pretty diverse, im really excited for her new album M.D.N.A now!

Ah brilliant mate, have fun exploring her catalogue...if you love her hits across the thirty years try out some albums/album songs too as they very much match up and even surpass some of her respective hits from each album...what i love is that her albums are like a chapter in her life and people an relate to some lyrics, styles tonally each era too

So yeah enjoy and hope you have as exiting a ride as us all and yeah MDNA is so exciting...how are you liking her most recent three songs so far?

Me Gusta

She's excellent. I didn't expect her to be much of an album artist when I first started listening, but imo her albums are just as strong if not stronger than her singles in general. Ray of Light, Like a Prayer, Confessions on a Dance Floor are good introductions to her albums but I just started with the brilliant singles for a while like you seem to be . I'm sure MDNA'll be good, and as the lady Madonna herself said it contains, "something for everyone".

Enjoy Material Girl is a good song. Also check out these:

Vogue
Like A Prayer
La Isla Bonita
True Blue
Like A Virgin
Secret
Frozen
Hung U
Don't Tell Me
Ray of Light
Music

These are the Madonna songs I listen to most often. Her 80s songs are classics IMO. Some of her 90s and 00s ones are good too.

The frustrating thing about being a Madonna fan was the disappointment when there were album tracks just crying out to be singles - Impressive Instant, Over and Over, Where's The Party, Bye Bye Baby (a great "F--ck You!" song), Pray For Spanish Eyes - I could go on and on ...

Ahh, remember when Madonna songs made you think? When you'd hear a song of hers and you'd think 'My God what's she done THIS time!" (in a good way). When I first heard Don't Tell Me I thought the record was jumping with the gaps, Ray of Light I thought she was turning into Kate Bush. Just brilliant (was). Now ... boo hoo.

Masterpiece is well....a masterpiece! GMAYL too me was very enjoyable, it seems like a very fun, tongue in cheek song and i really like it.
Girl gone wild is also very fun, has great production, i'll have to listen to it a bit more till i "get it", but so far im liking what im hearing!

It is great that feeling too though.

I love it when its like damn why wasnt ^^^ a release/single etc.

And looks like MDNA will be an album to follow suit too. But that just proves how strong her albums are when the album songs are strong/stronger than releases.

I hardly find that with many other artists tbh...and when you can have an open mind and blast her albums you find one heck of a lot

Ah that is sweet so glad you are enjoying it thus far Masterpiece very much reflected a lot of her mid-90s Something To Remember era (1995-96) of personal lovely ballads.

And yeah Luvin is fun but i one heck needed to repeat it a lot to grasp it. But with Wild it hit with me instantly i felt.

glad that you like both are you getting the standard MDNA or deluxe or both

I actually pre-ordered the deluxe off of itunes a few weeks ago, when it was cheaper to pre-order, after i heard GMALY i went straight to itunes!
Im on American pie now, i gather that this is a sort of controversial song among Madonna fans, i love it though, i actually remember hearing it years ago and thinking at the time "what is this awesomeness!?" But never pursued it lol.

Ah that is real sweet

And yeah it is controversial mainly because the original by Don McLean is like half an hou long and Madonna made it less than 4 mins long...but i think its a good cover personally while it isnt "hers" so to speak she put her stamp on it

And you are persuing it now which is the main thing...better late than never as they say

If you truly wanna experience how awesome she is, check the albums out. Madonna may have some amazing songs but as like most artists, to truly understand Madonna, you need to listen to her albums. Catch up before MDNA arrives if you can.

I went and listened to most of her songs a few weeks ago, and put my favourites on my iPod. I have around 40 Madonna songs on there. Mainly stuff from the 1980s and 2000-2012. I couldn't really get into the 1990s stuff; I only have 6 songs from that time period on my iPod.

Madonna is one of the select few artists that have demos/leaked songs that are as interesting as a lot of her album material

She must...i mean MUST release them all remastered onto an album full of B-sides, Demos all mixed up and released from each era for us all! I hope they do anyway.
