Best Season of Lost

IMO it's season 1, I loved the mystery of the island, that's something you could never get back, and in season 2 the other survivors came, which was disappointing I missed the first gang And IMO the rest were boring, with the exception of a few episodes (The Constant, Tricia Tanaka is Dead).

Wasn't there only 4 Tailies that made it back to the Losties camp (Bernard, Eko, Libby, Ana-Lucia)? And 3 of them were dead before the end of Season 2, can't see how you 'missed the first gang' when the only main Losties to die in the first two seasons were Boone and Shannon.

Edit: Actually Eko snuffed it in Season 3, taken out by Smokey.

It was never the same again after they came, and after they left everything with the Others etc. had started.

I'd probably rank them:

1
2
3

5
4

6 (I haven't rewatched this season since it aired)

I think we can all predict that it won't be season 6, though I personally loved the ending. The season overall though had way too much filler, and too many new questions being posed when it was time to just give answers. Also, a rather disappointing climax to the Ben / Widmore saga.

Aside from S1, I'd probably pick Season 3, just for what was probably the best cliffhanger ever, in the history of TV.

Putting them in order from my fave to least fave I'd say:
*contains spoilers*
1 - just because it all seemed so fresh and when we were first getting to know the characters.
4 - lots of new fresh ideas, best series opener since the pilot, first time we see them off the island ect.
5 - introducing a time travel twist was risky, but seeing them part of the Dharma in the 1970's was fun.
2 - the whole hatch thing was a nice twist, though the overall series suddenly got rather dark and morbid.
6 - some great moments towards the end, aswell as the intriguing alternative reality, but some bits got rather sluggish, particularly at the temple.
3 - got rather tired of the Others being in control. Plus it contains my two least fave episodes - the series opener and the flashbacks about Jack's tattoos (as if anyone cared). But it's redeemed by others such as Tricia Tanaka and the end twist leading to the next series.

series 2, without a doubt. You have Desmond, the other survivors, Ben, the Others, all the hatch stuff, it's just brilliant. Also, this has to the best opening ever:

1, 2 and 3 at the top. I adore every second of these seasons. Even the "boring" or unpopular episodes I loved. Just everything about the show to me was spot on.

Then would come 4. Not something I was overly fond of but it was still good and I enjoyed the fast pace.

Then 5. Good first half, that improved as it went but then an absolutely abysmal second half which lost all momentum that had been built.

This downhill slide continued in season 6 right to the end. Apart from the odd moment here and there.

Good ending for a lot of the characters stories and some nice resolution but overall pretty generic and forgettable finale.
