But every post you say your not rubbishing taylor whilst at the same time you say everyone else is better then her, lyrics are crap, she cant sing.. blah.. blah.. blah. Its laughable and appears to be a lot of jealousy involved, me and many others have already explained why taylor writes the lyrics like she does, it just shows what a clever and complex songwriter she is to be able to do this.

Anyway enough from me this is just turning into another Adele Vs taylor thread and as I have said before thankfully taylor and adele are universes's apart as artists and there is no comparison on any level musically and non musically.
No i'm not your misunderstanding my point which is that Lyrically Taylor is writing at an age which is younger than her years there is no complexity to her lyrics they are simple in comparison to some of her contemporaries that write mature and well thought out relatable lyrics whic is just surprising as she is 22 which i find as a detriment to her skill as a writer not to be able to relay herself to someone of her age she writes nice songs that is all . And i think you will find my problem with Taylor has always been her lyrics.

And actually if you had some subjectivity you would see that Both write from hearbreak and love just worlds apart in their view's of one mature and thought out the other sweet and fairytale.

She writes certain lyrics for a reason, thats what your not getting about her songwriting and thats what makes her so skilled, she can change the style and complexity based on the song involved.
There are many of taylors songs which have excellent lyrics, go check out fearless and speak albums now for many examples.

Again i think it comes down to this as i have listened to all three including platinum Fearless (original was nicked and i loved that cover ) i sort of grew out of her lyrics if you get where i'm coming from which is why i don't rate her as i used to she is able to convey herself to a younger audience and i understand and get the place her music comes from but as a 20 year old she doesn't translate that well in the same way others would like for instance i relate more to 19 now than when i bought it as 16 as i am experiencing those things rather than having experienced moved on and digested what Taylor writes and she hasnt brought it back up to speed for me to want to sit and listen to her hence why i would go listen and enjoy others whch is my issue with her you get me i know its kind of long winded but maybe you can see my perspective now as well as others

Its all down to opinion, what I am trying to say is taylor will create lyrics to a song based on the songs content, there are many songs on Fearless and Speak now which have complex lyrics and to create lyrics of different complexity based on a style of song is difficult to do hence why she is rated highly as a songwriter in the industry.

Adeles lyrics do nothing for me I cant relate to them at all, artists like amy mcdonald and others from the UK write far better lyrics but its all personal opinion.

My favourite female lyricist of all time is Jewel, no other female can touch her and for a guy its the professor himself Neil Peart from Rush.

I suppose pehaps as she is also American her outlook is different to that of a 20 something Brit perhaps as individuals we just are more grown up and thats why she doesn't translate that well.

Also was dissapointed with A Curious Thing after enjoying This is the life she's working on new material though i think

Well talking of Favourite's Gl mine has to be Kate Bush for females paved the way for so many others.

And the pope of mope Morrissey sometimes it's good to revel in misery

Ooh this is brilliant did make I laugh...............Neil Peart of Rush............you can 't relate to Adele's lyrics but you can the nonsence that is Rush..........that figures.

For those of you not familiar with them they are a prog rock band who started in the 70's...........I have attached a couple of their song lyrics which many music fans throughtout the world and many music journo's consider pretentious clap trap.

Just stating facts.

There are many threads about acts I don't particularly like on this forum, I don't even bother reading them, let alone post in them.

You, on other other hand, continually post in Adele threads, even, as I understand it, posting many times in her appreciation thread.

Bizarre behaviour, really bizarre.

Neil Peart is the king the lyric writing any fan of rock music would be hard pressed to disagree, the guy is a genius,
And of course one of the best drummers ever to walk the planet.
And tom sawyer which is one you have quoted is one of the greatest rock songs ever written.
But its hard to have a discussion here about this sort of music, these forums are for pop music really.

I now think you are making these quotes tongue in cheek. I have been in and out of the music business for 35 years, never met anyone who would agree with what you have to say about Neil Peart, only beaten is rubbish lyrics by Jon Anderson of Yes, who his own band mates had no idea what he was on about.

I am a fan of rock music and I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who agrees with you.

Nope, have been into rock music all my life, husband is also a professional guitarist and has been involved with many people in the industry and the opinion is the same, regardless of if a person likes rush's music or not Neil Pearts lyrics are looked upon as genius, he is not called professor for nothing you know. Rush and Neils lyrics has inspired many big bands in todays music, Red Hot Chlli Peppers , Metallica, Dream Theatre are just 3, but there are many, many, more. Many people I know find Rush's music hard to get into or dont like it but appreciate what a talented lyricist Neil is and what an incredible talent Neil, Alex and Geddy are, never come across one single person who would dis Neils lyrics in the way you have done, but guess there is a first for everything. But as I said these are not the forums to discuss a band of Rush's standing, not enough people here are into this kind of music, any thread regarding rock music here quickly dies a death with a minimum of posts in it.

I bought it when it first came out, being a fan of 19.

I wasn't impressed, anyone could have recorded it really. I gave it to my mum, she's not keen either.

Neils lyrics are very complex and deep, many people just cant understand them so say they are crap. The lyrics of some Rush songs 30 years old are stll discussed as to the meanng or hunting for Neils hidden message which is puts in a lot of his lyrics.

I mean the lyrics of a song like subdivisons moved a whole teenager generation who related to every word that Neil wrote.
And an anagram for Mongo, how long did it take some people to work out what Neil was doing in that song lyrically that was a masterpiece.

Rush are a thinking mans rock band and Neils lyrics are certainly a thinking mans lyrics but some people prefer the pop style lyrics of abba and the beatles thats fine as some of the best songs have simple shallow lyrics.

As I said I know many who dont like Rush but no one who would slag off Neil Lyrics.

I wonder if her next album will be called 23?
