Basslines
Recently I've discovered a band called Unknown Mortal Orchestra and one of their songs has such a catchy bassline.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DwfeiXSstc Has anyone got any songs with a good riff on bass they enjoy/recommend? |

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a lot of good funky basslines.
(e.g. Apache Rose Peacock, Naked in the Rain, Suck My Kiss etc) I like this bassline by The Cure The Cure - Other Voices http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpX829fQQps |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TNc-mRwyP4 OK it's a double bass, but it's still a hell of a bassline. Imelda May - Johnny's Got a Boom Boom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhogVvwbwkw |

Roisin Murphy - Overpowered has one of the best, most catchy basslines I've ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_LWbg2Y-V4&ob=av2n
Also Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls has a good bouncy bassline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3j2NYZ8FKs&ob=av3e These are the first ones that spring to mind but I'm sure there's lots more I can't think of right now. |
