even as a Barca fan, I wouldn't begrudge Atletico winning the title. common sense suggests they won't, because their squad isn't really that deep, and the games will be coming thick and fast at this point, but fair play to them for being where they are now, and they've got a great chance of pulling this off.
at some point, people will wake up and start holding Ronaldo as accountable as anybody else for Real's continued failure in the big games and lack of success. these last two games, he's done almost nothing but shoot, and he really doesn't do enough to influence games outside of his shooting. he's on his third manager there now, and an untold amount of money has been spent on building that team and squad, and yet all they've got to show for it is one league and one cup. what else exactly is needed for them to be successful? if you're supposed to be the best player in the world, and you can't lead such a strong team to win, on what basis are you the best? this is one of the main differences between he and Messi, he scores lots of goals for Real, Messi makes Barca win. |

Sad news for Victor Valdes
Played his last game for Barcelona as he is out for the season and out of the World Cup with a cruciate knee injury |

I want Atletico to win the league, so I'll be happy seeing Real drop points.
Also, Real have 6 home games and 2 away games left - how the hell has that happened? |

If all three teams keep winning until the final game between Barca and Atletico, Real Madrid will go into the final game without being able to win the title. Long way to go yet though as still some tough games for all three teams.

Real only have 5 home games left, and 3 away ones.
Just had a look at the fixtures and BBC says Celta Vigo (h), but I'm pretty sure Real have already played them at home so maybe a typo on their site. |

you're correct, the Celta game is away rather than at home.

Bit harsh on Ronaldo there, Real could have won the Champions League in 2012, a penalty shoot out loss to Bayern in the semi. Ran into a brilliant Barca as well in 2011. They could win it this season.

There's some truth in it though. Ronaldo is a very individual player. Look at the other night how he was moaning that Bale took the free kick and missed. They've both scored 3 this season and Ronaldo's had plenty, so it's not like he can say he's better than Bale at them. Of course he's a ridiculous goalscorer and one of the most talented players I've ever seen but I sometimes wonder if, given a choice, he'd rather win the Pichichi and the Ballon D'or or La Liga.
Bayern have managed to win the Bundesliga in record time. They're also currently 25 points ahead with 7 games remaining, and AFAIK the record points gap between 1st and 2nd is 25, so that could be another record for Pep. It was always going to be near-impossible to match Heynckes's achievements last season but if Pep retains the CL I have to say he'll have done it. |

Scuffet with another clean sheet for Udinese, 0-0 against Inter. Yet another quality performance, only 17 years old, could be big things ahead for him.

taking into account his world-record transfer fee, his demand to be the world's highest-player, the managers he has played under, and quality of team-mates he has played with, I think his move has been so far been considerably more beneficial to him than it has been to Real. |

if they were unlucky then, what about last season? or La Liga every season except 11/12? or the CdR final last season? there just always seems to be an excuse with this team, but no-one ever seems to question the main man. considering all the success that Messi has had, I find it strange that of the two he's the one question marks more often seem to be raised against whenever Barca aren't successful, presumably due to his not having played in England.

Bayern could be going for their third Champions League in a row, they really should have won in 2012. But they didn`t and that`s football.

Jose cost Real the Copa Final last year, he went into meltdown and Ronaldo followed suit. It is true they only lost to Bayern on penalties. The original Ronaldo never managed to win the big one, despite signing for the reigning Champions who happened to include Zidane in their team! As for Messi, he is simply the greatest.

Amazing first half in the 'defence- minded' Italian league
Half tIme Udinese 5 2 Livorno I just noticed Barce let in a last minute equaliser yesterday at home to Getafe Big chance for Athletico to go even further ahead this afternoon |

The titles of Champions League winner, and Spanish League winner, will go to a team in Madrid, that much is now for certain, just how will they end up, that much is yet to be fully decided.
Hopefully Atletico end up winning the double, as they have had a wonderful season. |

I can't agree with some of the comments here on Ronaldo. He's a fantastic player; last season he was one of the few consistent players for a RM side that was quite literally tearing itself apart and had the majority of its players either with inconsistent form or out of form all season. I think he's been more than value for money for RM.
I expect Atletico to win the league, and RM to finish second - Barca; there's too many things going wrong there. |

Well it's certainly interesting after Atletico today lost 2-0 to Levante... On the final day of the season Barca could be in a position similar to that of Everton's yesterday - beat or draw with Atletico and they could hand Real Madrid the league!

I notice that the (current) top 2 in La Liga are facing each other on the last day in what could potentially be a title decider.
That's something I'd love to see in the PL, but has yet to happen. |

Can't see Barcelona trying too hard in that one, if it helps Real.

Wouldn't be so sure, they're still in with a shout of the title and could be on the final day. They've beaten Madrid both times this season and so have a better head to head than them. The first game with Atletico was a draw so that final day game could put Barcelona level on points with Atletico if they won and they'd have the better head to head record. Granted that all happened and all three of these teams win their games in the run up to the final day, Barcelona would know a Real Madrid loss could see them win the title.
All if's and but's right now really but there's still a chance Barcelona will have every reason to go full on against Atletico. |

The 'predictable' Spanish league hasn't been that this weekend
Barce drew at home yesterday, Athletico lost at Levante this afternoon and now Real are losing at home to Valencia with 10 mins left Looks like the ball's back in Athletico's court |
