Dortmund has completely imploded this season. The players are a shadow of themselves compared to last season and Klopp is seemingly running out of ideas and doesn't really know himself what is going on. With the team they have, a mid-table position would already have been a disappointment.
Dortmund won the league in 2011 and 2012 and were runners-up last year so the fans had been kind to them so far, hoping the team would return to their usual form. The German media has actually been criticising the fans in recent months for that, arguing that the team needs a kick up their backside by their supporters. It seems panic is setting in now though. A loss against 10-men Augsburg at home is quite serious and relegation now seems like a very real possibility. |

Doesn't help that there main strikers the last few seasons are now at Bayern & Dortmund haven't replaced them yet, plus have had injuries to other key players, without those players teams have worked out how to play them, the Champions League last 16 tie against Juventus is vital, if they get knocked out i can see Klopp resigning.
Dortmund will play Freiburg (who are only 2 points ahead) on Saturday. They have to win that one. |

I know people were calling the Dortmund worship a hipster fad, but they don't have to take it this literally.

different topic: chaos at semi final ACN as home team Eq Guinea losing 3-0 to Ghana so fans invaded the pitch and the game looks as if it might be either abandoned or the last 8 minutes played (eventually) with no-one in the stadium.

It's crazy. And they're gonna restart the game!
Edit: Why did they restart just to play 3 random added minutes?! A mess of a game this one. |

Stupid Ajax losing me my (five-fold) accumulator. They were at home, too.
There was a red card for Ajax. Terrible decision. Jetro Willems got a stupid red the other day but this was even worse. |

oh here's a thing about that african nations match ..... if the referee "missed out" time, doesn't that mean the matched wasn't played in the full 90+injury time?
if that's so would that mean the match is NULL AND VOID??? |

Dortmund fighting relegation and Southampton fighting for a Champions League place, I am sure that I must be living in a different universe to the one I was in as few years ago!

Just shows what you can do with a stronger squad.
Having new team, or different teams compete in the Champions League would be good to see I think. |

My excuse is that I have just got a new phone, and so consequently I am just having to get use to things on it!

Atletico Madrid are 18/1 to win the CL, longer odds than City. Given they will be hurting from last year, I would say those are extremely kind odds.

Juve keep control of Serie A with a good victory over a Milan team that did OK but Juve just had too much quality.
Morata looks to be getting better and better. Could certainly be a top striker if he continues in this form. And in regards to Atletico. Think they've confirmed their dominance over Real this season and should certainly give any team a game in the Champions League. |

Atletico were brilliant today. That said I don't think Real were up for it and were beaten before they stepped on the pitch. Tough match midweek vs Sevilla, some injuries and psychology handicapped vs Atletico due to recent results.

The Real team that started today's match, started with a very unusual defensive lineup, injuries and suspensions there certainly helped Atletico and their forwards, but credit to them they were fantastic all over the pitch.
Dortmund back to winning ways in Germany, as were Bayern. I am looking forward to Lyon v PSG tomorrow, that should be as cracking game, shame Lyon are missing their star striker for it though. |

Suarez at last gets the goal his performances have warranted in recent weeks.
Barcelona are looking very impressive right now. Man city are going to need to raise their levels quite a bit I think. |

Lyon and PSG played out a 1-1 draw so the French title race stays as is with the top four all drawing this weekend.
Anthony Lopes had a brilliant game for Lyon. Keeping pretty much everything out that PSG threw at him until they got a penalty. Really interesting title race in France this season. |
