If he is taking a year out then I have doubts about him going to City, unless Pellegrini gets another year. Arsenal seem more likely, and perhaps Liverpool if for some reason Brendan isn't with us next year. Or Man United after LvG, since he's a short-term solution anyway.

Rodgers to City, Klopp to Liverpool?

Stranger things have happened.

Would Klopp not want to go to as club with Champions League as part of their offerings??

At the moment Liverpool cannot offer him that.

Neither seem like a good fit for City, actually. Brendan doesn't have the greatest record in the transfer market, though he has a few gems, and with FFP he wouldn't be able to splash out at City. And both he and Klopp would want time to build a squad, rather than deliver instant success which I imagine City would aim for. Both do well with young players, including homegrown players, which would be his main selling point to City.

If in the unfortunate event that Brendan Rodgers stops being our manager then I'd happily replace him with Klopp. That's not because I think Rodgers is a better manager, either, and I have no opinion either way on that.

Blatter Likened to Jesus, Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill

Whatever 'special blend' they're passing around at the CONCACAF Congress, we could probably all do with some.

I don't ever remember Jesus, Mandela or Winston being anything remotely like Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars....

Is it just me, or does the doctor that quit Bayern, look a lot like James May of Top Gear fame?

But it will probably take a Messiah to get rid of him.

Dortmund have already sorted out their next manager after Klopp, all the rumours were correct then, as he was always the most likely candidate.

bit of a weird thing to say.

LVG has bigger profile than klopp and he joined a team not in the champions league.

Even weirder when you consider on the previous page batdude was suggesting Liverpool as a possible destination himself

Seems a bit out of the blue, but I wonder where Klopp will end up next? City, Liverpool, or perhaps replacing Wenger at Arsenal??
Batdude suggests Liverpool
Somebody else suggests Liverpool
Batdude finds a reason to disagree

...and it's said he doesn't just disagree with people for the sake of it.

I'm sure Klopp would consider any club he felt had the potential to get Champions League even if they aren't there this season, I'm not sure Klopp is short sighted enough to discard a club with such a short term viewpoint.

As you say Van Gaal was happy to join a non Champions League club.

I agree. I don't think Liverpool would be completely beneath him despite not getting in the Champions League next season. Klopp might like the challenge.

I think Van Gaal was considering Liverpool a few years ago. Might've been as a Director of Football, which would've put him off, or maybe it was him expecting to work with one or something. But in any case it will have been while we were out of the Champions League since it was at the very earliest after Benitez left.

Just looked it up and I think it was as a DoF. Imagine him as our manager though with Suárez around. Journalists asking stupid questions about Suárez, or Suárez being an idiot. Either one would set him off.

Think I fancy Bayern slightly over 2 legs. Very difficult tie to call.

It is a sort of the ultimate complete team team (Bayern) v the ultimate individuals (Barca), so I cannot wait to see how that pans out.

The other one is very interesting as well, can the vast experience of Juve out do the outstanding talents from Real?

Either way it will be fun to watch all four matches!

I cannot see any of them being like the quarters and having huge scores.

I think you could be right, but I would love to see a Juve v Bayern final, just so that greats like Buffon and Pirlo can have one last hurrah!
