Who will play on the right for Barca next season seeing as Alves is likely to leave and Bartra is not really up to the very high standard that they require.

1. Alves probably isn't leaving.
2. Bartra is a centre-back.

I thought Alves turned down the contract offered?

Absolutely crazy signing for Real. Ancelotti is the better coach by far!

Humm....would his style fit in at Real?

I don't think is a good move for him if this report is to be believed, but I guess only time will tell.

The reports have been attributed to a German radio station that doesn't actually exist.

Juventus have beaten Lazio 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final after extra time.

The domestic double is complete for Juve and their quest for the treble is still on.

Seriously?

Oh this is going to be good if it's true.

Check out his twitter @agent_edward

He says the real Madrid board is split on Rafa.

What I will say is I've been following his account for over a year and his spot on the majority of times with the stories he leaks.

I really don't think there is much difference between Ancellotti and Benitez in terms of quality, in fact, I doubt Ancelloti would have achieved as much as Benitez if he had managed the same clubs at the same time.

Benitez hasn't really set the world alight since he left Liverpool. There is no doubt what he did with them was amazing, and with Valencia. But since then he took a Champions League winning side and won two cups which they were in by virtue of another managers achievements.

He then inherited another CL winning side and didn't do a great deal, although winning the Uefa cup isn't to be scoffed at.

With Napoli he's won a cup and their version of the Charity shield...

Ancelloti re-invigorated AC Milan and won two Champions Leagues. Won the league with Chelsea, won the Champions League with Real Madrid...

It'll be extremely interesting either way. Rafa has a history of not being quite fully supported in purchasing players and I doubt that would be the case if he did get the Real job...

rafa and real will prob = 0 titles, 1 cup and at least 1 champions league win over 3 years

thats probably enough for the board!

In my view Ancelotti is still the best manager in the world and I don't think either Benitez or Klopp are even close. Real's problems this season were not managerial. I would love for Ancelotti to come to Bayern!

I think Ancelotti is a fantastic coach however it cant be denied his Real Madrid side were rightfully favourites to win La Liga last season and this season and both times came up short.

Not saying that is all on him but I don't think its unfair to of expected him to win the La Liga once in the two seasons his been @ Madrid.

I think their main problems this season were the sale of Alonso and Casillas' incredible decline in form. With Alonso and a decent goal keeper they would have won La Liga (and would not have lost to Juventus).

If the Alonso sale was all Ancelotti's doing, then yes - I guess he is to blame.

Didn't Alonso want to leave. I seem to remember him mentioning how certain players were not appreciated. Kroos coming in meant Alonso was always going to go.

For me the biggest thing was the James signing and Di Maria going. I'm not convinced Ancelotti was behind that but its Madrid and being a Manager at Real Madrid means you don't always get a say on the ins and outs.

Which makes even less sense for Benitez to go there. He had enough issues at Liverpool. The obvious one being the Alonso/Gareth Barry thing.

That Alonso, he causes some problems, doesn't he?

Alonso is an absolutely key player in any team and him going had in my eyes the biggest impact on Real. I actually thought the James signing was good and Bale is unfairly used as a scape goat. Di Maria hasn't shown anything this season to suggest that he would have helped Real. Real's problems were not at the front, but at the back.

What about Di Maria last season. He was immense and I think without him Madrid look slightly unbalanced now. At times it looks like there are too many similar players.

I agree Di Maria was great last season and they wouldn't have won the CL final without him, but he has not been the same after his injury at the World Cup. Besides, he would be another 'similar' player, wouldn't he?

I agree that Real do have quite a few similar players and maybe that's why Bale has trouble fitting in at times, but I still think Real's attack was not the problem this season. They had problems at the back, which Alonso and a good goal keeper would have solved.

But Real Madrid were steamrolling everyone for months after Alonso and Di Maria left. Their decline in form and subsequent overhaul by Barcelona came in the new year/February time. Obviously the sale of those to players had an effect but there had to be more to it than that or we would have seen them start the season poorly.
