Balotelli scores again for Milan (penalty) but they only manage a 1-1 away to Cagliari who are 16th. It's looking like we may not see Milan or Inter in the Champions League next season if Napoli and Lazio can hold on to 2nd and 3rd! Lazio have not won in 4 matches though... Roma seem to be in freefall too, don't they? 10 conceded in their last 3 games!

Balotelli with another goal, which was another penalty. Also a beautiful overhead goal in injury time that was disallowed (looked like the right goal and the ball was out when Robinho headed it back). Fair result in that game really. Palermo/Pescara ends in a 1-1 draw so nothing changes between those two down at the bottom. Lazio don't play until the Monday in over a weeks time, so Napoli have another chance to open a little gap there. Still not convinced Lazio have enough to snatch one of the CL spots, certainly all up for grabs there. |

It was being reported yesterday that Lewandowski will join Bayern Munich at the end of the season. I wonder if that would be enough for Klopp to leave? I'd love to see him manage in England. Maybe he could bring Reus with him.
It was an eventful game between Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt. Scheiber, who'd come in to replace the suspended Lewandowski, got himself sent off with 2 bookable offences! Both were very soft though. Gotze and Reus were devastating with their link-up play. Two players with incredible potential.Meanwhile, Juventus did the bookies a big favour... They were great odds to beat a Roma side in absolute freefall. Roma won 1-0! I guess the trip to Celtic must have taken it out of them. Typical that Napoli failed to capitalise on this today after drawing 0-0 at home to Sampdoria. |

There have been reports since the end of January that Lewandoski is 'joining' Bayern Munich; I get the feeling his agents are playing a cat and mouse game with Dortmund; on the day Spiegel reported than Munich are going to announce they're signing him next week (end of February) Lewandoski's agent says that there's been interest from Manchester United.
Dortmund themselves, don't even appear to know what's going on - Bayern don't seem to have approrached Dortmund on the matter; so I really doubt Munich will announce anything next week - I think that's speculation. Only a week to two weeks ago, Lewandoski himself stated he'd decide his future in the summer. Really, the summer will interesting for the Bundesliga. I don't see Dortmund letting Lewandoski go to Munich; even if it means him running down his contract. If they sell him, it'll be to a club outside Germany. I remember when Ribery really wanted to go RM and Bayern Munich held firm that it wasn't going to happen. As for Klopp; he's already stated at least until 2016, he'll be coaching Dortmund, so he won't be coming to EPL any time soon. Reus was fantastic yesterday; and it looks like for the next two games he'll be striker - maybe in a number 9 position? I still think Juve will win Serie A; but only because Napoli don't seem able to capitalise on Juve's errors. |

Such a strange one, they've done really well against the big sides all season (Beat Juve, drew and beat Milan, drew with Fiorentina, drew and beat Roma). Genoa also beat Udinese which is a pretty big result for them considering Pescara lost to Cagliari, giving Genoa a four point gap between the two at on the line of the relegation zone. Milito also pretty much ruled out for the season after that awful injury in midweek in the EL. Absolute massive blow for Inter. I still reckon they can take something from the game tonight, but Milito missing is probably the nail in the coffin for their CL push. |

Inter getting an absolute pasting so far, 3-0 with 60 minutes gone. A combination of Fiorentina finding some form again and Inter being poor. Could end up a few more at the rate it's going.

Only a place for Beckham on the bench tonight, so the slightly hyped up Barton/Beckham stuff is put on hold. Really hope we get to see him for at least 20-25 minutes tonight. ESPN Classic for anybody that wants it live, also repeated later tonight on normal ESPN.
Meanwhile, Milan derby starts very soon too, ESPN. Balotelli against his former club of course. Elaarawy up against Zanetti should be a bit of a cracker. Juve beat Siena earlier today to open up a seven point lead, Napoli play tomorrow away to Udinese. Roma got another win under the belt in a crazy one, conditions were pretty bad (snow), cracking. Ended 2-3 Roma. A win tonight for either Milan side will be pretty big in the race for that CL spot. |

Looking forward to the Milan derby, and how Balotelli performs!
In the Bundesliga, Bayern won their clash with Werder Bremen 6-1. Dortmund where held to draw with Mongladbach, and Hummels looks to be injured, so Bayern open up a 17 point gap in the Bundesliga. To say Bayern out of sight is an understatement, and I'd be genuinely surprised to see if they outdid their Bundesliga success this season, next season. Schlake also beat Dusseldorf 2-1 yesterday. In La Liga, both RM and Barcelona put in fairly underwhelming performances to come from behind to win 2-1 in their respective games against Deportivo La Coruna (RM) and Sevilla (Barca). RM needed Cristiano Ronaldo subbed in the 2nd half to bring life into the game, with goals from Kaka and Higuain. RM's disciplinary problems continued as Di Maria was sent off in injury time. Barcelona came back in their match with goals from Messi, and Villa. |

My lord, somehow Balotelli isn't on the score sheet yet. Two brilliant chances, one incredible save from Handanovic and the other right at him. Goals to be had here for Milan though, currently leading 1-0 with a lovely goal from El Shaarawy. Really does feel like a matter of time before Balotelli gets his goal. Elsewhere, PSG are leading through Lucas Moura. Quote:

While Dortmund haven't been incredible in the league this season, it's tough to argue with what Bayern have done. Been bloody outstanding. League title verging on sewn up and also down as the current favorites for the CL. Cant really ask for much more than that, would love to meet them in the CL.

Balotelli seems like a player reborn at MIlan, he just seems so much more happy, and to be enjoying his football.
Which is a very good sign if you are a MIlan fan, such a shame in a way that he is unable to play for them in the Champions League, as he is now their main focal point in the side. |

1999 revisted, with both teams going for their own respective trebles, might be interesting again.
I hope with the same results!

Marseille deserved a whole lot more then the 2-0 defeat.
OM were the better side.and PSG scored two lucky goals. OM now out of the title race but Lyon are still very much in it. Got another el classico in the coupe de france on Wednesday again in Paris. |

Bayern v Dortmund is a really good game. Bayern are 1-0 up with a lovely goal just before the break from Robben.

Watching the Copa Libertadores highlights that are shown on ESPN got me thinking, we have all see plenty of South Americans in the Champions League, but has their been any British players that have played in that tournement?
