I think the problem is that you display your hatred and blinkered views about Liverpool and all things Liverpool very very clearly on here so when someone uncovers such horrible retweets its not going to look good.
Obviously Id hope for your own sake that it was a genuine error. I'm not sure how you accidentally retweet something about Hysel without realising but I'm sure the people who know you better will be happy to accept it was a mistake. There are aspects that I quite admire about them, for a period growing up I was an admirer of Fowler and Owen, whilst they were there, they give youth a chance like Ibe, which is good to see and I hope that continues. I didn't realise the error of my tweets, or rather in this case, retweets, once told about them, I corrected the error as best as I could, that is surely not a sign of someone who hates Liverpool or the tragic events that we have been talking about is it? I don't know how much clearer I can be on this point, I am not a Liverpool hater, nor am I someone who glorifies or revels in tragic events. I really do hope that helps to sort things out out. |

I do believe that it was more naivete than malice with those tweets, but you definitely are blinkered about Liverpool even if you don't think so. It's patently obvious.

Yes I am not suddenly going to turn around and start praising them left right and centre, no one would surely expect a fan of the club that I do support to do such things, but I am willing to be fair when the time calls for it. |

You're never going to convince anyone. Eddie Hunter hasn't even been here long and he sees it. People would have more respect for you if you just admitted your hatred of Liverpool. Instead you claim to be neutral while saying Man United "gave us a chance" in the Champions League, or that Grant Holt is as good as Suarez, or players will run away from Real Madrid in terror because Benitez is there, or that nobody in the whole world of football could get Balotelli for one reason or another. And those examples are barely even scratching the surface.
The ability to give praise does not mean you do not hate the thing you're praising. |

The ability to give praise does not mean you do not hate the thing you're praising. I do not hate Liverpool, they are my teams main rivals and so consequently there will be a rivalry there, but me on a personal level, I don't hate them, is it good for my team if they get beat and do I enjoy seeing that happen, yes to both points, but I am sure it is the same for Liverpool fans in reverse, it doesn't mean a person hates a club just because they enjoy seeing them get beat or not do as well as they want to be doing. How long is the Grant Holt thing going to be held against me, I made a huge, massive, monumental, enormous error of judgement call there, and have since apologised for it on numerous occasions, I know that my role in life is not as a scout that much is for certain! That was an honesdt error of judgement at the time, it didn't mean I was bias, it just meant that I was (or am) a bad judge of talent. My Rafa comment was more to do with his style of management rather than anything to with the fact that he was once Liverpool manager. So I repeat (and this is not a "the lady doth protest too much" situation) I do not hate Liverpool, that is the honest truth, I have a rivalry with them, just as any Manchester United fan does, it does not extend further beyond that. |

I can only use my tablet at the moment so can't be bothered typing out a huge message or cutting your post to pieces. I was hoping to avoid having to do that by stating that they were just examples, but as usual you don't accept examples for what they are and choose to focus on them.
All I will say is you went around the world (twice) to say nobody would have Balotelli, the Grant Holt thing is relevant because it was an example of your bias since you meant it at the time, and you being a Man United fan doesn't excuse anything since you don't see the likes of Jim talking negatively about Liverpool or Liverpool-related things so often, or coming across as childish when engaging in "banter", or coming into the Liverpool thread acting friendly then mock us in the United thread, or derailing countless topics because of saying something that could be interpreted as anti-Liverpool. |

Great post but expect another lengthy uneducated piece of immature drivel in response. You'd think after his disgraceful Heysel tweets he'd consider a long break from here at the very least. He won't though, he'll keep on baiting. He's ruined thread after thread today with the end result its impossible to have a grown up discussion. |

How else would you like me to say it, so that you are satisfied with my answer?? I have said that I enjoy seeing Liverpool get bear and drop points, but that doesn't mean that I hate them, I am sure there are plenty of Liverpool fans who like and enjoy seeing us drop points, that don't automatically get accused of hating us, it is as far as I can see part of the two clubs rivalry. If I am wrong in my thinking, then please tell me so. I am not someone who goes around baiting or trying to disrupt discussions, that is not me at all, I am all for a good discussion, just like the one currently ongoing on the FIFA game thread about women footballers being put into the game. I have tried to be fair and honest with my answers to the point of my supposed hated of Liverpool, but honestly, I don't know how much clear I have to make it, one last time, I do not hate Liverpool. Now, I hope that we can at the very least make some peace with each other. |

People should stop replying to his posts then, if they're bothered by them that much. Yes he talks some rubbish at times, but the amount of attention and dissection people give his posts does as much if not more to derail the discussion than his own posts do in the first place.
I don't like to derail threads such as this one to the degree it has been, but when my personal character has been put down or questioned as much as it has, I do feel that I should stand up and at the very least try to defend myself, and to try and put the record straight. I am really, really sorry that so many posts have been spent going back and forth over my character, I hope that this is the b end of things, and that we can go back to talking about the topic at hand, European and World football. |

Isn't it a bit ridiculous to claim to know a posters preferences more than he does himself?
Surely he is the best person to know whether or not he hates Liverpool?

Surely he is the best person to know whether or not he hates Liverpool?I would expect fans of rival clubs to hate each others teams though that's normal, its a bit odd to say one thing while your actions suggest something completely different though. I think if I was a Liverpool fan I would struggle to converse with someone who was retweeting about Heysel though, would you not? |

From what I can gather the issue is that he is saying he doesn't hate Liverpool yet he speaks largely negatively about them which I would say is absolutely fine until someone uncovered him retweeting stuff about the Heysel stadium disaster. That takes it to another level from my point of view but that's just my own personal opinion.

I have made my point about stadium events going badly very clear I hope, I do not want to see any club go through them, it is that simple. I detest when people mock our own tragedy in Munich, so it goes that I am against people mocking other teams' tragic events. Is this clear now? Can we go back to talking about football on the pitch? |

i have been accused of disliking a particular team which is crazy imo but then ill be honest i can see both sides of the debate in this one.
anyway back to football, who is watching the copa america? and who do you want as winner? i want messi to lead argentina to a trophy myself, if not them then chile as hosts or brazil as a bit of redemption from 7-1 loss to germany. |

Yes, I am looking forward to the Copa, there should be some good matches.
Hopefully from a purely selfish point of view, Di Maria can play himself back into some good form. |

Please can we end this now, how often, and how many times do I have to apologise for the two retweets?

But as you say this has nothing to do with football and everyone will make up their own mind. To get back to the football Id also like to see Argentina win the Copa America as apparently Messi needs to be performing more for his country in some peoples eyes which I find amazing! |

Who has the African Nations these days? I used to like the highlights show BBC2 would have while it was on, although I wouldn't particularly go out of my way to watch a full game.

Seriously, it makes no difference to me one way or the other I don't really have much interaction with you but maybe I'm a little oversensitive because I have seen people hiding behind social media where they will post things that they wouldn't dare say to your face. Personally I wouldn't have retweeted in the first place and it seems like you retracted it only when you were rumbled by another poster.
But as you say this has nothing to do with football and everyone will make up their own mind. To get back to the football Id also like to see Argentina win the Copa America as apparently Messi needs to be performing more for his country in some peoples eyes which I find amazing! Does that mean I get quite a bit wrong, yes it does, and I am open and honest enough to say so. I am not someone who thinks that their opinion is always the correct one, heck I know it is not! It is far, far, far, far away from being so! I didn't unretweet them because I was "rumbled", I did so because it was the right and proper thing to do. I retweet quite a lot of things, so at times it is hard to remember what I have retweeted and when. Does that end things now? Can we all agree that I don't hate Liverpool, and that I don't revel in and glorify tragic events? Onto the football there is certainly going to be a lot about, from the aforementioned Copa, to the World Cup, U20 action, European qualifying rounds, and pre-season friendlies. |
