Etcheverry's probably the curly haired guy you mean, I remember him being the only player the media mentioned beforehand and then he came on and just got himself sent off straight away. That game seemed to last about four hours too.
That was the dude - I had Exteberria in my mind so knew it sounded something like that.

It was a crap game, although one poster will certainly disagree

New contract for Enrique:

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has been rewarded for winning a treble in his debut season by having his contract extended by a year until 2017.

The 45-year-old led the Spanish giants to Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey titles.

Enrique's future had been in doubt after he refused to say whether he would remain at the club after Saturday's 3-1 win against Juventus

It was daft that people were questioning his future with the club.

Why? It was Luis Enrique himself that refused to comment.

Because they were playing some superb football, (not just relying on Messi), and winning trophies, and doing very well all around the club, for some people (not here I don't think, but in general) to have wondered if he was good enough, was strange I think.

Look at Tata, he had a very similar squad and didn't do anywhere near as well as Enrique has done this season.

Again, it was Luis Enrique that refused to comment when asked, so in those circumstances you would expect people to speculate on his future.

I don't think anybody was questioning whether the treble-winning manager was good enough when talking about his future.

Dani Alves has also signed a two year contract, he was brilliant this season and his link up with Messi is one of the best in the game so another good piece of business from Barca.

even when they were top and going strong in all comps the fans apparently thought he was too direct and some wanted him out.

the reason he did not comment on it was probably because there were still some who might not have wanted him to stay. all a bit ridiculous.

Virtsu would have come back if the manager got the half-time talk right.

So it was coming, it was just a matter of when, and today is the day, Milan have sacked their manager.

Their last two appointments have been appallingly bad, for a club of their size.

Inter have agreed a deal to sign Miranda from Athletico Madrid for about €15 million, not a bad deal for the Italian club.

Hmm. I've never heard of them. Are they a new club by any chance? Certainly Atletico Madrid will be keen to avoid copyright infringement that is for sure I'd say!!

Ahhh yes, they are indeed a new club, which makes them getting such a fee for a player a good thing for them.

miranda a good but but also alot of money for a 30year old, still inter big problem is defence so good move.

the better move is mureillo from granada , he looks brilliant at the copa. inter should be solid next year

interested to see if milan pull of these ambitious signings

and juve got manzukic for 18m btw

Ronaldinho is available on a free transfer, he is waaaayyyy past his best, but I still have a soft spot for him, so I hope that we see him back in a high profile league once again.

More likely though I think he will go back to Brazil.

If he's waaaaaaaaaaaaay past his best, then he won't be appearing in a high profile league I would say.

kondogbia to inter!

they are going all out at moment, very good for serie a too, getting back to its best? co-efficient would suggest so.

all depends on europa again though

Big blow for Milan but could be a big signing for Inter. Seeing all sorts of names linked with both clubs. Will depend on if Milan make any of the big signings they're linked to, right now I'd be more confident in Inter being the more improved next season under a settled Mancini.

Genoa lost their Europa spot and it went to Sampdoria. A single extra point for Inter and they'd have gotten the place. Positive is they can focus on the league now and try to make steady progress. Should be a brilliant battle for the European spots next season.
