Allegri played an odd team imo. He should've picked Dybala and Sturaro. Unconvinced by Pogba at no 10 as well but it's early days. Bonucci taking the freekicks is insane.
I don't actually think Juve will win it this year but hope I'm wrong.
Roma please!!! As a farewell to Totti

Wouldn't read too much into the opening loss for Juve. Heavy favorites to win the title again this season, personally don't think any of the other teams have enough to end up matching them this season. Losing Pirlo, Vidal and Tevez at the same time is tough but they've gone out and invested well so far with possibly more to come.

Dybala, Khedira, Mandzukic, Alex Sandro and now Cuadrado among others too. They're stacked in attack and fine defensively, a matter of how well they cope with the big midfield losses. Domestically expect they'll be fine. Still too much quality and depth for the others IMO.

Marca are already reporting that relations between Benitez and Cristiano Ronaldo are strained and that Ronaldo does not feel comfortable with the tactics and training methods used by Rafa.
It's not looking good already and we're not even out of August yet!

whilst i agree with you i think this will be the closest title race serie a has had since juves reemergence

their midfield has completly changed, its gonna take time to be dominant again, also khedira injured...again

meanwhile inter and roma have strenghened, milan spalshing cash but that doesnt always mean improvement with them lol

as i like inter in serie a it was sweet to see jovetic curl in that last min winner. if they beat carpi and roma beat juve they could be 5 pts ahead of juve by intl break lol

That seems like the sort of thing that Marca would spew out on a weekly basis no matter what.

Who needs centre-backs, seemingly not Pep, as it seems he is trying a new system, featuring none of them!

Bold, brave or suicidal? I guess we will see.

To be fair, it looked like it worked out for him, I am not so sure he could do such a thing in the Premier League and still come away victorious.

Maybe not in the PL, but I'm sure he will try out something like this against Barcelona in the CL

Juve lost away at Roma last night 2-1, first time in their history that they've lost their opening two league games. Really need to get Marchisio and Khedira fit to strengthen the midfield.

Lazio got a 4-0 drubbing away to Verona who end the weekend top of the table. Jovetic scored two for Inter, a late penalty to seal a 2-1 win. Napoli threw away a 2-0 lead and drew 2-2 while Fiorentina lost 3-1 away from home. Goals from Bacca and Adriano got Milan their first three points this season. Inter the only one of the 'top' sides with a perfect record so far.

Getting Khedira fit, might be like trying to get Diaby fit, I don't hold out much hope there sadly, as if they could do so, he would add so much to Juve's midfield, as he is a quality player.

They still won 3-0. I wonder if he's bored by how uncompetitive the league is and he's just trying to amuse himself. Still, it's interesting to see experimental management.

amazing how well players can play when they escape Wenger - Szczesney's amazing save kept the score at 2-1 to Roma.
Disappointed that Seville lost to Atletico Madrid. Without Bacca, they've lost clinical finishing. 3-0 was a joke of a score though, given the chances they created.

Surprising results. It was actually Chievo who thrashed Lazio. (I was checking to see if Toni scored).

It's still early and i'm not making any observations. But I do hope Roma can finally clinch the Serie A this season.

It wasn't idiotic, Guardiola is a well known admirer of the way Bielsa sets his teams up. One his favoured formations is 3-1-3-3, which Guardiola played on Saturday. Chile have just won the Copa America playing the same formation and have done so for the last few years.

miranda
mureillo
montoya
telles
melo
kondogbia
perisic
llajic
jovetic

not bad business, with kovacic and shaqiri sales plus getting rid of some deadwood apparently netspend was less than 5m, need to double check that though,.

Allegedly, Vidal was kicked out of the Chile squad after getting drunk at a casino and turning up to training the next day still feeling bad. Given what happened at the Copa America, that is especially idiotic if true. He's denying it though.

Ronaldo with five goals today and an assist. Surpasses Raul's league record (5 behind overall record):

Raul - 228 in 550 games
Ronaldo - 230 in 204 games

Simply incredible.

Anyone watching the Bayern V Wolfsberg match on BT? Lewondoski came on as a half time sub and scored 4 in 4 mins :0 madness.

edit : make that 5 in 8 minutes

Some players won't get 5 touches of the ball in 8 minutes, that's mad.

Barca are in trouble here, 2-0 down away at Celta Vigo.

3-0

weird game. Celta are absolutely roasting them, and fully deserve their lead, but at the same time Barca have missed at least 3 opportunities you'd expect them to bury most days.
