Barca being a one-man team is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard, but not that surprising I guess. it tells me people just look at a scoreline and base their analysis on that as opposed to actually watching games.
no defeat is good, obviously, but the Sevilla one was a lot easier to take than the one against Celta, because the team played pretty bloody well in that game and were very unlucky not to win, nevermind actually lose. there were several chances created (and missed), which was my main fear without Messi and Iniesta, they hit the post 3 or 4 times, and Rico had an absolute blinder in goal for Sevilla. just one of those days. I was most impressed with Rakitic and especially Neymar who both visibly stepped up and took on the responsibility of trying to make things happen in the other two's absence. the league is very tight at the moment, and to be just a point off top (and level with Real) with a decimated squad and after 4 very tough away games is pretty good going. |

We're all just enjoying a good debate, it's good for people to have differing opinions. It wasn't anyone's intention to spout nonsense and if they lost Messi here's a list of all the clubs he couldn't sign for because they already have little guys

Neymar scores 4 in Barca's 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano.
I am starting to see what batdude means now about them being a one man team, though to be fair, Suarez chipped in with the other goal. Time for Messi to step up the plate eh? |

Suarez movement on his goal was so good and Neymar assisted. The idea Barca are a one man side is so stupid. Of course they miss Messi as would every other side on the planet as a player like that cant be replaced. That doesnt mean the cant cope though. I think more worrying for Barca isnt Messi being injured but the shape of the side even when he plays. They dont look as compact as they did last year. They allow a lot of space for the opposition to play and the transitions from defence to attack are not quite right as yet. |

Just saw the Neymar goal. Terrific skill
Brought back memories of Frank Worthington's goal for Leicester at Bolton SSN reporting that Moyes is about to be sacked as well |

The MLS play-off's were excellent last night, and the finish to the Dallas v Seattle match was crazy!
I don't quite know who the favourite is out of the teams left in, but I am going for New York to win the overall prize. |

Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 3 after 52 minutes.
The apparent one man team leading thanks to Suarez, Neymar and Iniesta. Messi about to come on. |

This is deep for Rafa. Losing is one thing but humiliation is something else.
Still Mourinho lost 5-0 to barca so it can happen. |

I was listening up to the first goal and it seemed like Real were right in the mix. But the final score suggests a beat of a beating. Was it? Rafa's containing football will only be tolerated for so long at Real, especially if it can't even prevent an El classico defeat like this....

Man it all just seems a little too perfect for FC Barcelona, for quite a long time now. I find myself confused as to how and why it all started.
The fact that Neymar and Suarez are around a goal a game (and might just finish the seson that way) makes me wonder if Lionel Messi really is this all time great he is touted to be. Maybe his real level is closer to that of what he shows for Argentina, where he is still a great player, but clearly less great. |

This was a football education by Barcelona to their rivals on their own turf. Barca fully deserved more than four, seven would have been about right, they missed some incredible chances, especially one in injury time of the first half. It doesn't get much more humiliating for Real Madrid then this I would say. |

Real pressed from the front very well, right up until the first goal, and then just seemed to completely wave the white flag. It was all quite bizarre. I'll have to watch it again to determine exactly when, but there was a point midway through the first half where I just knew that even though it was still only 1-0, the score would be whatever Barca wanted it to be. It wasn't so much that they were in control, as Real looking like they had downed tools. Ive seen a few clasico batterings now, but not like this. This was shameful. Quote:

Real started well for five minutes, that was it, then it was game over when Barca got their first goal, they started to pass the ball how they do oh so very well, and started the time-wasting tactics of going down and staying down at any given opportunity.
Bale and Ronaldo were just not getting the service at all in that first half, and I don't remember them doing a single thing of note before half-time. I doubt Barca have ever had an easier match v Real, even the 5-0. The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first, Real coming out all guns blazing, having a few shots, then conceding goals for fun again, then only having more shots, (which they somehow failed to score from via Benzema and Ronaldo twice) when the game was done and dusted. I thought it summed things up when Real's best man got himself sent off, you know you are having a bad night when that happens. Some fans near me got up, shared what I presume was their friends hands and left when it went to 0-3, and that was at the very start of the second half! Then loads more left once the fourth went in (including a guy with big hair infront of me, which was a bit of a relief I am not going to lie!). Real were just shockingly poor, and the body language of Bale and Ronaldo in the second half, where I could see them more clearly was not good at all, obviously neither looked happy as you would expect it a match with that scoreline, but there was no determination to try and change things from two top level players, Ronaldo especially looked as if he was sulking whenever Bale shot (and he didn't do that too often, only about three times from what I can remember) and didn't pass to him. Overall a disaster of a match for the homeside, but one as a neutral that I fully enjoyed being at, and a definite bucket list moment achieved. Neymar was great to watch in the flesh live, his movement, and skill were at times so silky and smooth. I can now honestly see why he is so highly rated, obviously I thought he was great before this match, but seeing him in person just made it more certain. One other man that I have to give begrudging respect to is Suarez, he just never stopped running or moving all night long, and he fully deserved his goals. |

As for the game, Barca were brilliant, but I have to give a special mention to Sergi Roberto after his performances in the last few games. He's replaced, Messi, Iniesta and Rakitic at one time or another and done really well. I had a pop at him after the Vigo game as I didn't think he was good enough in centre mid (although he played excellent at RB in place of Alves whilst he was out) but he's performed. His touch to set up Suarez's goal v Getafe was majestic!! |
