Surprised Athletico got beat.

Looks like Barca win again. I know Madrid could win the CL but if the fail to win the league again it really isn't acceptable.

Real Madrid win far too few league titles for a club that is by many accounts regarded as the the biggest club in world football.

Going to the final day in Portugal too, although Benfica are 2 points clear of Sporting with a significantly better goal difference.

To be fair to Real, they have been up against a side with arguably the greatest player of all time at his peak.

In any other era, especially with Ronaldo, they would have had plenty more league titles.

True but not sure the biggest club in the world can use that as an excuse. If anything it should make Madrid look at what Barcelona have done right over the last 10 years compared to Madrid.

pretty upsetting that Rayo Vallecano look dead certs to be relegated. Just hope they can get promoted after one season down if it does happen. They are the antithesis of moneyed, uncaring football. They also play attacking football (not v good defensively!).

One of my fave la liga teams, always go toe to toe with Barca and Real irrespective of whether playing home or away - guaranteed goals in their games. I hope they stay up.

Ronaldo scores 2 first half goals but so does Suarez so it looks like no surprises and Barce's title

Hm, just noticed this thread, been posting in the neutrals thread. From the first half all that stands between Barca and the title is a rotten referee refusing to book/send off Lopes, who seems determined to hospitalise as many players as he can. I don't think he is being deliberately vicious: this seem to be his natural game, a thug in boots. Suarez looks as hot as the sun.

Commentator of Barca match says as Ronaldo has now been substituted by Real, Suarez has won the top goal scorer award this season (miracles aside, of course).

Rico fails with the sort of chance Suarez puts away without thinking, Granada actually playing occasionally in Barca's half of the pitch.

More thuggery, head in face now from Lopes; he is still on the pitch. The graceless, talentless midfield of Granada have all been booked, for simply kicking out at their vastly superior opponents.

Granada losing the football match but well ahead in terms of injuring the opposition.

Hat trick for Suarez, 40 goals in the season, title for Barca.

Pichichi and European Golden Shoe for Suarez in his first full season, and he matches Ronaldo's best league total with about 10 less penalties and over 100 less shots.

The '£40 million and £1 bid' for Suarez should forever haunt Wenger.

staggering statistic. I don't think we'll ever see a three-man attack like this again.

He is 8 goals short of Ronaldos best league tally for Madrid though

Was about to post the same, not that there needs to be such comparisons you wouldn't have thought.

I don't get the point of trying to dismiss someone's tally, just because it happens to include penalties, are they not a legitimate form of goalscoring now??

Why try and poo poo them??

I thought the sniping at Ronaldo diminished rather than enhanced the attempt to celebrate Suarez's achievement.

Its so incredibly childish. It reminds me when I was a kid in the playground and you could only be in one of the "Super Nintendo" or "Sega Megadrive" camps!

Can't believe Ronaldo has only one league title in 7 years in Madrid.

Pretty remarkable for a player to do so well individually but the side comes up short.

Which reinforces your observation of a few days ago, "it should make Madrid look at what Barcelona have done right over the last 10 years compared to Madrid."

one of those being prioritising the team ethic over indulging their star player's ego to the team's detriment.

and people will still claim he and Messi to be on a par with each other.
