True! I think United should expect to win the tournament this season. The quality isn't great and even the likely 3rd placed UCL teams are unlikely to be worrisome. Mourinho will go for it because he's like that.
I am not quite counting my chickens just yet, and we still have to get out of the group, but if we take it seriously, then we have a good chance of doing well in it.

Still not sure whether it's fair for 3rd placed UCL teams to go in the Europa League. Worked nicely for Sevilla.
I don't like it. Makes sense for the competition to have a few extra glamour sides but for me if you go out of Europe that should be you done until next season.

Yeah if you are in one competition, that is where you should be, you shouldn't be elevated or demoted to another one (I don't agree with the winners getting a Champions League spot).

Well as we know the UCL spot was done to get the bigger sides in the Europa League to take the competition more seriously. I'm easy with it.

This tweet shows how good a window, it has been I think for Inter:- After signing Banega, Candreva and Ansaldi now Inter is set to give Joao Mario and Gabigol medicals- very very impressive.

Joao Mario was at the Euros for Portugal. Meant to be a good player. Banega is a Football Manager favourite from memory.

Banega was a terrific player for Sevilla.

Watched Juventus. A lot of new faces to fit into the team. They still looked short of match fitness against Lazio but it did look very hot, both sides flagging towards the end. Higuain still looks way short of the fitness required. Astonishing how much weight he picked up between the end of the Copa and now, especially as he knew he was changing clubs for a daft fee.

Bit of a surprise to see that PSG got beat 3-1 against Monaco.

It would be nice to see a more closely fought title race in France this season.

great result. think Lyon may put up a fight for a while but PSG will win the title by least 10 points.

problem for teams like monaco and lyon is once key players get injured there just isnt enough depth in the squads.

you have one club who can spend with the big boys while every single other team in the league are selling clubs.

if marseille could get some big investment it would be fantastic. nobody wants to buy marseille though.

PSG haven't solved the striker problem. Even with ibra they needed another top striker. Cavani isn't that player.

I hope PSG crash and burn, I don't like seeing such utter dominance.

Hopefully there might be more competition in Germany as well if Dortmund can challenge Bayern's dominance.

Swiss prosecutors have told the BBC they are investigating German football legend Franz Beckenbauer as part of a corruption probe.

BBC News.

Thing is its not the fault of PSG. Hopefully with OM being bought they will see some investment and get better players.

has anyone been to a match at Juventus? Wanted to see about organising a birthday present. Their website is confusing to say the least and resale tickets are uncertain as to date (like la Liga). Do you have to have a Juventus membership card as they are expensive, or can you just buy on a resale site or in the city itself nearer the time? I went many years ago and bought tickets in Turin somewhere but that was then.
Looks cheaper to book flight and hotel yourself rather than those exorbitant 'all in' deals?

Can't speak for Juventus but I've been to both Inter and Atalanta in the last couple of years and bought tickets at the ground on the day - Inter on the morning of the match for an evening KO, Atalanta was an hour or so before KO.

Word of warning, you'll need some form of Photo ID as your name is printed on the tickets.

http://www.listicket.com usually sell Juventus tickets. You buy online and collect before the game. You can change the language to English on the site. With other Italian sides you can probably get tickets out there but Juventus have sold a lot of season tickets this year so it could be a bit harder.

The kick off times up to Christmas have been released by Lega Serie A. Matchday 18 is the last one before Christmas.

A few games have been moved to Friday nights to allow them an extra day before Champions League fixtures.

thanks v much guys.
So they don't move the game at the last minute to another day or unsocial hour like Spain do? Looks like I'll have to book ahead, make a weekend break of it. cheers

he's just had heart surgery too. Doubt it's possible to get given a World Cup without greasing palms. It's toxic.
