Saturday kick offs tend to be at 18:00 and 20:45 Italian time. Very occasionally there'll be a game on at 15:00 on a Saturday.

Sundays is usually one kick off at 12:30, the majority at 15:00 and then an evening kick off at 20:45.

Previously you'd normally find out the dates and times maybe a month ahead. The last few seasons they've done it a lot sooner which helps planning trips. (I'm a Milan fan).

At last a response:

http://us12.campaign-archive2.com/?u...&id=c552d7254f

Quote:
“The EPFL Board of Directors is meeting today in Amsterdam to discuss the outcome of the reform of UEFA Club Competitions.

The European Leagues believe the way this process has been conducted by UEFA to be unacceptable for an organisation that claims to be the governing body of football in Europe. A major change in European football has been announced without the support and consensus of the organisers of domestic league football in Europe. This decision will have a detrimental impact on domestic competitions and will lead to an exponential growth in the financial and sporting gap between the biggest clubs in Europe and all the others.

As a result of the decision taken by UEFA, the EPFL believes that UEFA has breached the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations.

In the event that the EPFL were to terminate the MoU as a result of such breach, this would give all European Leagues total freedom to schedule their matches as they see fit *– including on the same days and at the same kick-off times as UEFA Club Competitions.

Finally, the EPFL calls on the new UEFA President, to be elected next week, to reconsider the reform relating to UEFA Club Competitions. The European Leagues stand ready to meet the new UEFA President to discuss these matters.

The EPFL will further clarify its position during a press conference that shall take place at 15:30hs in Amsterdam.

The EPFL Board of Directors’ meeting was attended by the following Leagues: •Spanish La Liga
•German Bundesliga
•English Premier League
•French Professional Football League
•Russian Premier League
•Liga Portugal
•Dutch Eredivisie
•Swiss Football League
•Swedish Professional Football League
•Danish Professional Football League
•Scottish Professional Football Leagues
•Italian Lega Serie B”

Just read some clubs will need to go thorugh 4 qualifying rounds to get into the CL which is absolutely ridiculous. What is the point in a close season? UEFA have a responsibility towards the welfare of professional players. Asking them to play in more and more games at the height of summer, when every other season the World Cup and Euros will still be taking place seems nothing short of absurd.

They have benefited the most from the changes.

Just to note on Monday Rummenigge sat there with a straight face and said on at least four separate occasions that there had been total consensus between clubs, UEFA and the ECA on this. Clearly he was lying.

So both top Madrid clubs have been banned from signing players (or rather registering them) until 2018, that will make things more interesting for both of them.

I bet Jose/Wenger and the like really want to be having to send teams across the world in mid-week games just so the money men can make their millions again.

They moan enough as it is about the fixtures schedule!

Barcelona 0-1 down at home to Alaves.

Barcelona basically just proving how overly reliant they are on the front three, truely dreadful first half. Arda Turan has been a shadow of his Atletico days since joining the club, Alcacer has been invisible.

Going to have bring Messi and Suarez off the bench to save them (again).

To be fair if you took 3 equivalents from any side you would see an effect.

squad rotation not working out too well for Barcelona.

I suspect that might be the last time Luis Enrique benches BOTH Messi and Suarez again.

Yep and probably even though some don't seem to think it's possible top sides in other leagues do drop points sometimes

Home defeat to Alaves is pretty poor result whatever way you spin it. The following game was home Celtic, arguably the easiest fixture in the group, they've just started the season its not as if they're all dying for rest.

Theres been an emphasis by media in assuming Barcelona's failures in the latter part of last season (i.e. not retaining the CL) was due to fatigue because Luis Enrique didn't rotate his squad enough. I actually don't think that was the case as fatigued teams don't usually finish the season suddenly with a 6 game winning streak beating teams 8-0. Its more likely they merely hit bad form just at the wrong time (possibly even a bit of complacency crept in?)

But Luis Enrique decided to go with squad rotation today, which there's nothing wrong with, its just that Barcelona secondary forward line, with the exception of Neymar, didn't look particularly impressive tonight.

But if he insists that squad rotation is the way to go in order to win the CL, then that will be music to Real Madrids ears certainly on the domestic front.

Even PSG have dropped 5 points so far...

It's like Juventus last season. A terrible start but they went on that ridiculous winning run and won the league at a canter.

over-reation much?

Enrique was right to rotate last night, and I wouldn't have started Messi or Suarez either, but there were just too many changes. starting a new keeper behind an unfamiliar back-four and all the new signings right after an international break was a bit reckless IMO. From last season's regular lineup, there was no Bravo (or ter Stegen), Alves, Pique, Alba, Iniesta, Messi or Suarez. take 7 starters out of ANY side, and tell me they won't struggle. rotation is fine, but Messi is nursing an injury, Suarez had just played two games in South America, a lot of the new signings have barely trained together. Neymar only just trained with the team for the first time this season too, after the Olympics and then international break. it really wasn't the right time for experimentation

Mascherano was dead on his feet after two games for Argentina, and it's him that should've been rested instead of Pique. Iniesta, Sergi Roberto and Umtiti should all have played too, and it would've been a very different result, even without Messi and Suarez IMO. not the end of the world though, and definitely no need for any major inquiry. going forward, rotation will be fine once the new signings are all settled in.

that said, they made enough chances to win two games last night.

last season was 100% DEFINITELY fatigue though. all three forwards fly to and from South America eight times a season, plus there was a Copa America for Messi and Neymar last summer, plus the Club World Cup in December too. it all adds up eventually.

A Serie A cross with Serie A pressure. Joe Hart clearly isn't suited to a physical league like Serie A. I reckon he might be finished.

They said that about Dennis Bergkamp & Thierry Henry when they came over to our league. They didn't turn out that bad in the end. It just takes time.

Barcelona running riot at Leganes 0-3 HT. On skysports 5 right now if anyone's interested.

3 goals from 3 different goal scorers, you can pretty much guess who those three were.
