What are peoples regret impulse purchases or a purchase you regretted but in time liked.

One of my regret purchases was Daniel Powters album which i didn't finish as it was in my opinion dull and boring and only had one good song on it which was Bad Day. The strange thing is i wasn't crazy on that song either! I don't have a clue why i bought it, a mystery.

On the reverse to that i loved The Calling's debut 'Camino Palmero' and so bought the follow up 'Two' when it came out on the first day, however bar the singles didn't rate it compared to CP and thought it was a major letdown as i loved the previous album and so didn't listen to it again.
Recently listened to the whole Two album again and it's actually really good and i perhaps expected too much back then.

I have to say though i've never once bought a single or album because friends have liked it or by peer pressure even when i was younger and more impressionable.

I also think it's very telling if you go in charity shops and see the same cds over and over again, where i am the one i've seen a lot of multiple copies of is The Darkness 'Permission to Land' which i don't get as i think it's a great album!

What are others regret impulse buys?

Unfortunately I am a bit of a cdaholic so almost everything I buy tends to be a regrettable impulse . ..

Overtones and Kelly Rowland spring to mind being my most recent.

Love Robyn 'Body Talk' and Kelly Clarkson 'Stronger' though.

I also tend to raid the cds in Poundland and come away wondering why the hell I bought certain ones ie THE HONEYZ, although I do like a couple of songs on their alb.

Haha! Me too! But I have bought some really good ones in there too by people like: Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, TLC, Kelis etc.

I even found myself holding a Bobby Brown cd in my hands dreaming of listening to it and picturing how great it would be . . .

Must get the Macy gray one.

21st Century Life, I think the album was called, by Sam Sparrow. What a load of crap and a massive dissappointment

Bittersweet World by Ashley Simpson was surprizingly good. Very original sounding songs tbh!

A friend of mine at school had a choice 20 years ago after getting a reward for passing his A levels - buy either Ziggy S by Mr B (my recommendation) or something else ... the next time i saw him i asked him what he'd spent it on and he said he'd grabbed ....

Jimmy 'She's lying' Nail - Growing up in public

Said it was a piece of pure poop and was last seen being kicked into a canal cerca 1995

Happy days

I remember buying radiohead- the bends cd listened to half of it and thought it was crap, and put it away, about two years later i watched there live video, thought it was great, listened to the bends again and the next day went out and bought pablo honey and ok computer, i have also see them three times live.

Although i can't say im that much of a fan of what they have done since ok computer.

I'm pretty careful nowadays. I listen to every album at least five times on Spotify before purchasing it. Although I do have the odd weak moment where I buy an album after the first listen, and usually end up regretting it. I think the last examples were Shakira's Sale El Sol, Alexis Jordan's self titled album and September's Love CPR. I very nearly bought J-Lo's latest album on impulse too. I'm glad I didn't, because its awful.

It was met with horror last summer when the Hoosiers released a comeback single, and I admitted to associating the Hoosiers with Scouting for Girls!

Alexis Jordan and Nicole Scherzinger I don't know what happened that day. At least they were cheap.

It was very tough back in the pre-internet days when you couldn't stream an album online before deciding to purchase or not. I got caught out with so many crappy albums when I was younger which was my fault for deciding to buy on the back of one decent single

Debolah Morgan springs to mind instantly but I doubt anyone remembers her.
Even though I loved The 411, their album was crap besides the three singles.
I have an MJ Cole album for some reason
Cassie's album was a heap of junk.
