If people listen back over the course of her career she's always done songs on every album with some WTF lyrics. Impressive Instant, Jimmy Jimmy, Shoo Be Doo and many many more. However, on each album there are very mature and meaningful songs as well. M has been doing this all throughout her career and all of a sudden people are demanding a different approach to her sound and lyrics, that ain't going happen

Madonna IS Dance...she knows how to do it...and Luvin and Wild showcase polar sides of how to do Dance Pop differently

Madonna doesnt try to be anything other than her which is one reason why I love her so much.

Madonna can outdance the majority of Popstars today...Shakira and Beyonce really only come close! And Madonna is 53....and doing what she wants to do...she is letting her hair down with Bennassi and Solveig in the only way she can and will be very introspective and deep with William Orbit.

MDNA will boast a load of different styles so do not worry about that But Madonna doesnt "act" in fact many would argue that that is the only thing she cant do (sorry M!) Madonna just IS Madonna enjoy her for what she has achieved and embrace her for what she wants to do

Besides i am an album buyer and MDNA i cannot wait to hear

I love her WTF songs! Sonvs that stand out as something either totally absurd in direction like those mentioned there or lyrically insane!

Madonna has the perfect mix on each album, just in different styles And i cannot wait to hear "gang bang" i do have a feeling it may not be a single release unfortunately...but damn it sounds macabre and nasty!

Very astute, I like where your coming from. (Aprt from those skeletor hands of hers)

Actually, just been thinking, in the mists of my brain, the lyrics to "Nothing Really Matters", "The Power Of Goodbye" & "What It feels Like for a girl" are really quite beautiful, so, i retract my original comment!

If you go back to:

Promise to Try
Till Death Do Us Part
Dear Jessie
Oh Father
Spanish Eyes
He's The Man
Something to Remember
Where Life Begins
In This Life
Love Tried to Welcome Me
Most of Ray of Light
I Deserve It
Gone
Most of American Life
Sorry
Like It Or Not
Miles Away

the lyrics are ALL top quality. She is capable of writing good lyrics as well as simplistic bouncey ones!

I wouldn't say she's being 'youthful', just a bit lazy.

Sad thing is, when we eventually get GH vol.3 it's not off to a greatest of starts.

Maybe she's more an album artist these days, I hope so.

I feel the pain of the real fans who want more of the American Life type of lyrical emotion and raw honesty but after the deaths of Whitney, Amy and Michael, I am just making the most of Madonna while she is still very active. Like I said earlier she is the last of the major superstars and we need to cherish her while we can because there will never be another like her.

We'll agree to disagree. My fav album is still Like A Prayer, but alas, the lyrics are clunky (but its not a problem for me, because its 'of its time' - and it adds to the naivety of the record - she was trying hard to be 'grown up'/artistic after hangin out with Sandra Bernhard ).
Shssss, dont tell anyone, but i dont believe she wrote all her lyrics anyway, back in the day!

Age should not be an issue. Mick Jagger is 68 and is still the same type of artist he is now as he was in the 60's and 70's. Rod Stewart on the other hand sings mostly old pop standards.

Madonna has always been about clubs and dancing and beats. The only thing up for debate is how good the tunes are and, ... yeah, I'm currently disatisfied with that, but I've said enough about that elsewhere ...

The best thing about Mick Jagger was Stella Street.....
Surely his ahem, 'ouvre' died a death many many many years ago... (Runs away quickly to esacpe death by lynching!)

I think Rod has ACCEPTED who he is & his age too.
People are 'Hung Up' about being youthful these days, they need to get over it. Old isnt boring, its just another phase of life.

And all those Madonna fans would probably get 'better quality' (and more music too!) if she cut down on that bloody treadmill a couple of hours aweek, and sat down with a pad n pen to work on her music, rather than sending talent scouts out to collate ideas for her.

Here is the full version of 'Girls Gone Wild' - complete with spoken Intro.

Apparently, the spoken Intro is not on the Single/Radio version.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEgrr...eature=related

And here is part of another 'MDNA' Track ' 'Turn Up The Radio',
which is rumoured to be a future Single.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ct2bIXBfmQE

The trouble is that she's 53, & sounds like she is trying
to be in 1984 again - when she was 25. It does sound
like she is trying too hard to sound 'young' again......
And too hard too look young as well - as her Videos
are showing.

I do love the prayer at the beginning...reminds me of the chills i had for Act Of Contrition and the killer WHADAYA MEAN ITS NOT IN THE COMPUTER!?!? always made me jump

But those goosepimples i feel when i hear it on here too and then descends into the song.....should have been on the single definitely.

for me its a classic case of be careful what you wish for. i love her nonsense meaningless songs with no heavy agenda. so i was glad to hear she was planning on making a dance record. i like both singles, but now i feel a little selfish, since her new material is being received quite poorly.

i cant really argue with people calling the new music generic either. since i have been the first to say that about other artists. maybe it will all come together in the end and perhaps there`s better material on the album. that certainly was the case with `born this way` where the 3rd and 4th single were far better than the first two releases for me.

i will like the album either way, i have never really been disappointed in her to be honest. i would like her to have a huge return to favour, but it looks unlikely to happen with this album.

Can I add to your list:

Over and Over
Pretender
Look of Love
Bye Bye Baby
Waiting
Why's It So Hard
Sanctuary
Take A Bow
Paradise Not for Me
Fighting Spirit (UR)
Latte (UR)

These to me are perfect examples of how her lyrics can be simplistic but as the same time get her message and emotions across...

I don't think GGW has gone down badly. Polls suggest people love it it's just that, as with most things, the people that don't like it are more vocal in saying so. She'll always release some light and fluffy pop tunes, always has and always will and people just need to accept that. She'll never do a whole album of Masterpieces and Live To Tells

Let us not forget the amazing Masterpiece (From W.E.) is on the album and I personally think it is one of her best in years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOetURByNA4 If there are any others like that on it I will not be disappointed. And call me a demented stan but I love GGW & GMAYL - although, I do see where the generic comments are coming from. Just so happens I like generic pop.

she is still so stunning

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...40632689_n.jpg

posted around Facebook and I posted on another thread...but i love that she evoked that retro/psychadelic vibe again for the Wild cover...i loved the images M and Steven Klein did for COADF and Mert & Marcus have brought that out again for MDNA

Damn i am getting obsessed with WI-I-I-I-LD! It is just a perfect sweaty dance anthem!

Yeah i love Masterpiece.

William Orbit will be posting news on MDNA about his songs on Facebook today! So we will find out a bit more of the directions of some songs.

I am glad she is mixing a lot up for MDNA, some fun uptempos, some action packed songs and some introspective stuff too Cannot wait to hear it all

Far too hard.

I dont want to be critical because her music is genius.

But my god the artwork for GGW just looks ridiculously embarrasing. She's making a fool out of herself and is becoming a laughing stock.

A woman in her mid 50's can be sexy without trying so desperately hard to look young..Its all to cringeworthy for me so I'll concentrate on her music instead.

How so? If I haven't seen the artwork before reading your comment, I'd have thought she's prancing around naked or simulating sex or something...I like the artwork personally but what I'm curious to know is how come she's becoming a laughing stock by remaining sexy? Who says after a certain age, if you look good, comfortable in your body, you can't show a bit a flesh?

P.S - What does she get this constant slack from people for trying too hard to look young when Cher has gone away with it for donkey years??

Its all down to the fact that Madonna is right up there still...you know? While she has faced massive backlashes she overcame them and remained on top you know? whereas for Cher, Tina Turner etc they have had their careers at different peaks, often having among their most successful works between their early 40s and mid 50s in their case.

Whereas with Madonna she has had a 30 year career as of this year and 4 deades and never shone away from the spotlight so therefore people will criticise Madonna for anything...while some dont like Madonna showing off her gorgeous body just because they know she is 53 it is pretty sad really.

Because while she has always made the unconventional the conventional it is a kinda taboo and i dont know why...Anyway the single cover is gorgeous not because I am a massive fan but because she is blatantly stunning! and long may it continue to! If she has the ability to do it let her do it twice over please!

GGW, Everything about it is brilliant apart from the damned chorus, which is just crap imho.

Get rid of the "Hey yeah yeah" bit right up to the "girls just want to have some fun" bit and replace it with something more like the rest of the song and you would have a damned good dance tune.

This era is worse than hard candy, really trashy cheap lazy songs that I hope I don't hear again.
