They haven't stalled. This is going to be the case with most phone and tablet updates from all manufacturers for a while now, I suspect. What innovative new features are there to include?
yep very true. the big conference in Barca last month unveiled the odd 'neat' feature, like waterproofing or a built in projector, but nothing spectacular. No hurry to upgrade to any of em.

So, does it have that Home button then?
*think* so. Can't really tell from the photos and there's been no mention of a change in functionality.

That is there job not mine.

Like the Iphone 4s and now this Ipad they seem to add a few updates and that it is all and then ship it out.

If another company did this it would be half arsed.

I have had a Iphone 3 and 4 and was due an upgrade but absolutely no sense in getting a Iphone 4S as it was a basic upgrade from the 4.

Same way this Ipad 3 is very underwhelming .

they've not mentioned wifi only versions. They mentioned 3 price points $499,$599,$699.
Those are the WiFi only price points, which are the same as for the iPad 2.

WiFi + 3G (& 4G LTE in the US) is $629, $729, and $829, the same as at the moment.

Im not fan of iProducts yet, but ive watched a presentation a bit.

exact name of iPad still not confirmed yet.
I guess, its called iPad New.

Retina screen, nice stabilisation, good cam(why on earth do we need cams on tablets), this is all i wanted to hear, nothing else.

Also, iPad can destroy PsVita.

To answer it, none are, this is an industry leader like the original retina display was.

Certainly a fair bit of the presentation seemed to be aimed at the gaming market - "it has more ram and higher resolution than Xbox or PS3"

Didn't Jobs say it has to have over 300ppi to be retina? But then it's just a word, whatever they called retina is retina

Which other tablet has a display of 2048 by 1536 or more?
1920 x 1200 announced already on the Asus pad 700 so the iPad is ahead but not earthshatteringly so.

When the iPhone retina display came out it was way above anything else. This just doesn't seem overly impressive for a model that won't be changed for a year.

The PS3 doesn't really need that much RAM due to way the Cell Processor works, it just needs really fast RAM which it has.

Gaming on the iPad is great for certain games but i hate on screen analogue sticks so games like Fifa are better on the Vita IMO.

I suspect that's why they had that image of the ipad being held further away from your eyes than the iphone.

I think next Apple product launch, I may try a drinking game on every "amazing", "mind-blowing" "incredible" etc. They do over-egg it a tad, I reckon I'd be pissed in 10 minutes.

It depends on the viewing distance.

The iPad is generally going to be held further away from your eyes than an iPhone, and so the ppi does not need to be as high.

But yes, it is just a marketing term they invented

The concept of 'beaming' stuff to other iOS devices is innovative.

For a phone yes, this isn't a phone, you hold a tablet further away from your eyes.

Was a bit confused because stuart_h said the retina display was nothing new on a tablet.

But it's still ahead of the rest. Yes, in a year it might not be, but for now, it is.So they're in the right ball park.

Does the Asus pad 700 even have a UK release date yet?

Because the announced Asus pad 700 will have 224ppi, no release date ASAIK and still over 40ppi behind the iPad display.
