Raspberry pi apparently used global suppliers so they could cope and they went down. Ironically raspberry pis website managed to cope with the traffic, go figure lol

Mine failed on the first attempt but has gone through now! I have officially pre-ordered the 32gb wifi new iPad! Whoop- now I just have to make sure someone is here to receive delivery :-s

Whoo hoo...after about 15 failed attempts to process order I finally pre-ordered a 64Gb WiFi + 4G with leather smart case...roll on the 16th ! I'll either receive 1 delivery , or 15 !!

It varies at what stage it fails at now. Sigh. Starting to wonder if this is a sign!

OK so the new iPad is not a quad core device. What it actually has it a multi core graphics chip. So spec wise its not a massive leap over the iPad 2. Not to be confused with what the Asus transformer prime has with a genuine quad core processor. So is the A5x chip still really a dual core cpu with a multi core graphics chip? Apple are very hazy with their tech specs.

And finally got it through! What an absolute farce. Shame on Apple, not impressed at all.

eeerm.... People like me would need Flash. Facebook and G+ apps so valid question. I'd have done the same. I'd just have to accept the reduced battery life

I tried so many times to get the order to work via the Store site, and also via the Store app. Every time gave me "Oops! There's been a problem". Eventually it started saying there was a problem with my payment... it seemed that even though none of the orders ever went through, they must have gone just that bit far enough for NatWest to freeze my card due to suspected fraud... I phoned NatWest, had the card unblocked, and re-ordered... the confirmation email came through a short while ago, still saying that delivery was the 16th




Apple simply said "quad-core graphics".

The "A5" in the iPad 2 & iPhone 4S has an ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU and a PowerVR SGX543MP2 dual-core GPU.

Presumably, the "A5X" uses the same CPU as the "A5", but has a PowerVR SGX543MP4 quad-core GPU. We'll find out for sure once iFixit does a teardown...

RAM is an unknown. The first had 256MB, the second had 512MB. Apple never states it though, we have to wait for a teardown.

Adobe have pulled all flash support for mobile devices, there is no way iOS will ever get flash, yet people ask time and time again...

If you need flash then buy an Android tablet or Playbook, it really is that simple.

Another disappointing upgrade by Apple after the let down of the iPhone 4S. Mind you it will sell like preverbal “hot cakes”.

Still if they continue like this – holding back on innovation to cash in next time – they will eventually get left behind. It is a dangerous game to play with how quickly things are changing in the tablet market. I honestly think the thing that will hurt them in the long run is screen aspect ratio. 4:3 is just wrong.

Dear oh dear . How is fitting a screen with a better res than most of your typical HD TVs on a 10inch screen a disappointment? It benefits people who have more difficult sight and the other technological improvements which would normally dent the battery life? Apple is more than giving customers the top tech. It's more about delivering a product that isn't frustrating, but subtle improvements that change things in a big way.

No thanks to a widescreen tablet. I personally think Apple will keep ahead with 80% of tablet sales in the UK. Hardly falling behind eh?

I bet there are a few other companies wishing they could make such a "massive cockup" by releasing a product that is so much in demand it brings one of the world's biggest traffic websites down ! Get real.

Why be so hung up about the specs. As with all Apple innards it will do what it needs to do to get the job done slickly.

Little disappointed with the new Ipad it was everything what was expected. We need Microsoft with Windows 8 for tablets and PCs and there Windows Phone to do well to push Apple to get move innovative. Its better to have them fighting over whos better is good for consumers.

But there in shows up the ipad's limitations. Flash for mobile platform may be pulled but a state of the art tablet is supposed to offer a desktop like browsing experience. Therefore a tablet although mobile with a big screen should not be offering a mobile browsing experience! As in watered down mobile wap sites. Aren't customers worthy enough to get on their 400 quid device the ability to view and use a site as it was intended by the site owner?

From my understanding flash will not cease on the playbook at least because it offers full desktop browsing capabilities so for as long as flash is still being implemented in websites there will be support from adobe.

All you guys who keep saying flash is dead must be from the future because flash will be around for sometime yet. Html5 is by no means a standard yet. Apple are seriously insulting its user base with the limited browsering capabilities. If I want to browse mobile sites I will do it on my smart phone. I want to get near desktop browsing on a tablet though and if I've forked out upwards of 600 quid for the 64 model I am sure I should enjoy the privilege of using the full Internet????

I should not have to use or wait for an app to be released so I can get functionality from a given site that should just work the way it was intended. For an expensive device that is just criminal.

You do know that 4:3 is pretty antiquated right? Stopped using it for tvs pc monitors you name it ages ago!. You must really enjoy losing one third of your screen to big black borders when watching media content. So flash is considered outdated yet it's still very much in use but an antiquated aspect ratio which is no longer in use is the way forward? Really???

Anyone moaning about the aspect ration of a 10" screen clearly doesn't get that the iPad isn't just an overgrown video iPod.
