Can anyone recommend any great iPad apps/games I can download while I wait for the delivery.
Also having never had an iPad before, do you have to give it a full charge before using it? and will it charge off the PC or just the 10W power adapter? |

Cards on the table... I'm in love! The screen is utterly gorgeous! Its heavy but yeah... picking up my Galaxy S2 after, its worth the extra weight for that screen.
In love! Oddly enough my case hasn't arrived with it. Not the end of the world but hey |

Yep, the screen is fantastic! Haven't spotted any light bleed which makes a nice change, but I hope I haven't jinxed it by saying that! Yep, it is quite heavy isn't it!

Sorry.
What do you mean by "quality and performance" then? How have "the likes of Samsung, HTC and Asus" come on in "leaps and bounds to produce technology well in excess in terms of quality and performance than Apple" Samsung even manufacture the Apple designed CPU of the "New iPad" and Apple have admitted that LG and Samsung are prime suppliers of other components including that display.....so much for the Apple Samsung war. Apple don't, as you know, produce their own hardware. Its designed in Cupertino and produced in China, same place as ZTE and Huawei (who even design and produce their own system on a chip makign them part of an elite gang). I agree that Apple keeps Foxconn on a tight leash production quality wise. Now I agree none of this proves the others produce equipment is in excess which is possible what you are referring to, but it also shows Apple are not up there alone on the summit anymore which is what they (Apple) would like us to believe. |

Also, a friend of mine from XBL has written a few blog posts going over apps and games: http://theville.co.uk/2012/02/12/ipa...non-game-apps/ http://theville.co.uk/2012/02/19/ipa...rt-four-games/ Quote:
Tegra 3. Nvidia have recently announced they wish to challenge Apple on their unsubstantiated (a smart looking graph projected in front of hundreds of Apple faithful is not a substantiated claim) claims at that A5x out performs the Tegra 3.Interesting to see the results.
Some benchmarks here... http://www.anandtech.com/show/5663/a...new-apple-ipad Not as high as Apple's claims, but still high. |

Snipped
To be fair, Apple didn't say it outperformed the Tegra 3 in everything, but that it outperformed it regarding graphics. Some benchmarks here... http://www.anandtech.com/show/5663/a...new-apple-ipad Not as high as Apple's claims, but still high. |

Bless, feel sorry for people who are still waiting, and still have to wait for another 2-3 weeks. To be fair, the Currys I got mine in didn't have any at all last year on release day so I'm not surprised people thought they wouldn't have any this time either.
I was actually really surprised that anybody queued this year based on the above. They must just like the atmosphere or something?! |

What is missing from those Apple claims is the fact that the Tegra 3 CPU is 300%+ faster.
It is almost thus like a single core Celeron versus a dual core Core i5. I don't really believe tablets will be used much productively yet many games do rely much on the CPU so bottlenecks will occur. And obviously few decent games will run at full resolution, it is exactly the same as with far faster PC's. |

For games though it is still generally fast GPU is more useful than fast CPU.
As a quirky consumer device that is probably the right priority with its mathematically 33% faster GPU. |

So is the screen worth the extra pennies if someone were buying a new ipad now?

Something else puzzles the tech geek in me.
With monitors I subconsciously choose a viewing distance to suit the screen size and display resolution. So, again ignoring all of the swooning, how much further away or even closer does one need to hold this New iPad? I was already told that we had that perfected with iPads 1 and 2. |
