I know there's lots of worthy things you can do on an iPad, but Real Racing HD is ridiculous. I say that as someone who hasn't owned a console for at least 10 years though.

I had to go out and missed my delivery. The courier wouldn't leave it with my neighbour per my instructions. Never mind, after a rush hour drive to the depot I now have my new iPad..the depot manager told me they had 500 iPads for delivery today, 450 of which they had been able to deliver ( assume the rest were "not at home" same as myself. )Now off to set it up and play with it

There is literally no difference between an iPad 2 & 3, was expecting to be wowed by the new screen but its no different than the iPad 2, but thankfully I'm not a mug that will buy one.

Am sure most will sell their 10 tomorrow.

For now sellouts are few and far between

There are two possibilities here:

a. You haven't actually seen both iPads.
b. You are a certified blind person.

Someone needs to go to spec savers! The difference is huge! I'm really impressed, super sharp and colours are so rich.

I guess there are people out there that can't see the difference from SD and HD tv. This is one of those moments

The dictation is amazing, it doesn't even struggle with my Glaswegian accent

Oooh you're lucky! I waited in all day and no sign of it. I rang TNT four times and got different explanations. I eventually gave up after hanging on on hold for 40 minutes with no human answering!

Hopefully I will get it tomorrow. But I hope you enjoyed Fiddling with it anyway.

I actually watched a HD video on the iPad 3 but still just the same as an iPad 2. Maybe if you took your rose tinted spectacles off you'd see I was right.

Agreed, I saw the dictation kit take on a strong Scottish accent and it was great. It is just Nuance Dragon dictation.

It's not just the same. Although I'm guessing you're only here to troll, anyway.

Four times the number of pixels than the iPad 1 / 2. 1080p videos instead of 720p. Quad-core GPU.

No way you can genuinely say there is "literally no difference".

Even just using the web browser looks better.

And when you run an app which has been updated for the new display... it's bloody gorgeous. Try looking at the same website on an iPad 2 or 3, and the same app on each (e.g. Real Racing 2 HD or Infinity Blade 2, both of which have had "Retina" updates already). Clear, obvious difference...

At first sight yes but after use, taking pictures with the better camera, faster processor, sharper images and better retina games due out soon it will soon show.

If you can't see the difference between 132 PPI and 264 PPI at a normal viewing distance then there is definitely something wrong with your eyes.

Seriously, that's not a snide remark - you genuinely need to get your eyes tested because you need glasses (or if you already have glasses then your prescription is wrong).

Maybe the Apple store didn't have them setup right. But I would have thought the difference would have been obvious after all I've heard about the new display.

.... and people thought i was trolling

now im no fan but i'd wager id tell the difference between screens ..... Moved from a HTC Desire (252 ppi) to a Nexus (316 ppi) and I could see the difference .... mostly when browsing webpages with text....

So im sure moving from iPad1/2 (132 ppi) to 'new iPad' (264 ppi) will be a pleasant upgrade !!

..... i wonder of the video was just low resolution ??? ....

.... now if only there werent those pesky black bars

I love my new iPad 3 the screen is incredible it's a joy to read online, look at photos and watch Hd video. You have to adjust the screen brightness to see the screen in its full glory. I sold my iPad 2 and was a bit hesitant to upgrade but it was worth every penny. I am not an apple fan boy I use an Android HTC XL and love it more than an iPhone.

Hehe .... you need to upgrade your profile when making statements like that

iPhone 4, Macbook, Apple TV and now an iPad 3

..... i think that puts you firmly in the Apple fanboy category

(ooooh ! you changed that pretty quickly )

Haha I badly needed to upgrade my profile but I can honestly say the MacBook air is nice but over priced, the iPhone is aesthetically boring and functionally over rated. The iPad is amazing though it's my favourite gadget.

A couple of work colleagues got theirs delivered today. The screen when you watch a hi-def video is amazing. Also, the Kindle app is much better for reading on the new iPad. Really sharp and clear.

^^ This.

The extra pixels will make reading text easier without zooming.
