Songs that should'nt have got to no1 ?
Following on from another thread it got me think on what songs should'nt have got to No1 in the first place and stayed there instead of better songs, i think there a few cases of good songs that missed out
![]() One song that did get to no1 and had the much coverted xmas no1 was Mr Blobby which held of Take that's Babe for 2 weeks, and Mr Blobby being one song that should 'nt of got to No1 in the first place ![]() Is the any more songs that Should'nt of got to N01, but held of the better songs than what was at no1

The Bob the builder song, and anything by Dizzee Rascal, or Black eyed peas. Or LMFAO.

Nearly all:
JJ Barrie - No charge (the worst number 1 ever) Sonia - You'll never stop me from loving you (where she now,eh) Glen(n?) Medeiros - that song The Firm - Star Trekkin' (although i know is popular and i think kept Bruce Willis off #1 spot) Joe Dolce Spandau Ballet - True (bugged me for years it kept the Human League and Heaven 17 off #1) Blur - Beetlebum Wet wet wet - goodnight girl (OK band, awful song) Swagger jagger - what the ...!! Hale and Pace - the stonk (although it was for charidy) KWS - please dont go (awful cover of nice KC track) Snap - rhythm is a dancer (Im as serious as cancer hmmm) Steve Silk Hurley - Jack your body Boyz 2 men - end of the road (albeit talented, still so dull) Color me badd - i wanna sex you up and actually most number 1s - 2 Unlimited, The Wurzels, Westlife, Little Jimmy Osmond, Blobby and probably 1000 more, sadly |

Remember Eamon? He released a song in 2004 about his ex-girlfriend cheating on him. Obviously cashing in on the success of this awful song the record company got the ''ex-girlfriend'' to release a retaliation song which also hit No.1!
It was like someone gave guests on Ricki Lake a record deal! These songs managed to keep tracks such as 'Everybody's Changing' by Keane and 'Trick Me' by Kelis off No.1. |

To be honest I think there is actually a difference between songs you personally don't like that reached No.1, and ones (such as the tacky, novelty songs) that are actually bewildering as to how they were the biggest selling record of a particular week.
For example, I personally don't like What Makes You Beautiful but I completely understand why it was so successful. The likes of Crazy Frog, on the other hand... I am completely baffled. |

Unfortunately the charts have been inflicted with novelty songs at certain times since the 1950s. The Crazy Frog defies beleif-as does that terrible song that kept Ultravox off the top in 1981. I often wonder are people sitting down and listening to these tracks or dancing around the living room to them? And if they do, what type of people are they?
