Kelis - Tasty (An Underated Album?)
I have been going through some CD's that i haven't listened to in a while and I came across Kelis's third album named Tasty
Listening to it now, i never realised what a great R&B album it is. I much prefer her when she went all Dance with her Flesh tones album but Tasty is a very underated album with good production and full of so many potential hits. Milkshake, Trick Me and Millionaire are absolute tunes Anyone else like this album? |

Not listened to it for ages, but I bought it when it came it, as I loved Trick Me.

'Let's get it on in public'
An ex bought this for me and i listened to it whilst travelling south from bradford. very fond memories of this album. First half of album is better than second. Love Kelis, she deserves bigger success. |

Definitely....I'd go as far as saying it's her best imo......Milkshake, Trick Me, Millionaire, In Public....all of these were super tunes.....and while Kelis Was Here was also great, it wasn't anywhere near as good as this in my eyes...

While I think the singles on the album are great, as a whole its not her best. When you put it next to Flesh Tone, it really is remarkable just how much she's progressed recently.

Tasty however is such a good album, and is often overlooked, pretty much like most of her stuff. I wasn't pleased they re-used "Flashback" on Tasty from Wanderland. It's not even as though they mixed a little. Its the same song... twice! That said, Tasty and Wanderland are very similar in sound, more so than any other of her albums. Aside from the singles, Attention, Rolling Through The Hood and Marathon are probably the highlights of Tasty, though it's a pretty consistant album throughout. |

Tasty is an immense album! Kelis should have been much more successful with it...such an underrated lady.
But i personally think Flesh Tone is my favourite of hers...i do love the Tasty album though, while there are filler moments overall it is a real sweet old skool record. Kelis Was Here i really liked too from 2006, a very good follow up and showed her first real image change too...unfortunately Little Star with Cee Lo was the only success from that album

Underrated? I thought Tasty sold very well thanks to Milkshake and Trick Me.
An underrated album is Sol-Angel and The Hadley Street Dreams. Everyone check it out now!!!! |
