As things stand no operator is any more likey than any other to win spectrum. It will come down to who values the resource most with the largest cash bid.
So what has happened to Vodafone ?

Really? if you treat Orange and T-mobile as 1? Can you evidence that claim?
I think there will also be another 4G frequency as well for high capacity urban areas, plus don't forget LTE at 1800Mhz, and some operators have that available in large doses.
Offcom is also on about refarming some of the digitial TV spectrum, so the 700mhz range can be used as well. This would be useful as many US devices are on the 700mhz range and would it would mean a better range of LTE devices. Ie. The new iPad also uses the 700mhz LTE range.

Yeah I read about that, but I think it wasn't until 2018 or something in the article I read. The auctions for the 2 frequency blocks we were referring to earlier was planned for later this year, but everybody now thinks it's certain to be pushed in to the first half of 2013.

I think it would be a very area dependen thing. Almost like the US, as some areas use it and some don't for digital tv. So I guess they could maybe sell parts of it in different counties or something?

I believe they're thinking of reorganising the DTT system which would free up the space
