Received an email a few days ago from Humax which advised that a FoxSat update was available from 11.00 hours today. Have just tried and no new software available.

Has anybody been able to get the update?

An error it is theT2 that has an update.

There is a Beta currently available only on request from Humax Support for the Foxsat-hdr which is designed to resolve the complete lock up of the box some apparently experience after pressing guide

Since reading this I've had 3 lock ups while searching the guide, it was fine before.

Looks like I need to press Shed/Red until they can solve this problem.

glad i found this post, good old digital spy. My machine locked up twice in the guide view during the week with the only option being to power down using the switch on the back panel. Was thinking the machine was starting to go wrong.

Yes, I've gone back to using the cached EPG method too so as not to get anymore lock ups.

If the Humax does crash on the guide I've found if you have Radons custom firmware installed just add a recording or something and then do a restart. Saves having to power it down.

Still no reply from Humax-so much for customer service!

I have tried a number of times emailing then, on a seperate issue, and have NEVER had a reply.

I suspect that a freesat tune and then guide will do much the same as the update.

Thanks for that. Did the software update this morning and it seemed OK on first try even though I tried to provoke the problem. The box had been locking up almost every time I used the Guide.

The OTA is a least a week away - not scheduled as yet.

Update now on Humax Beta! V1.00.20

Since learning of this alternative a year ago I only ever use it anyway, as I like to browse the guide while still being able to listen and partly watch the current programme.

Other than that the few lockups I get these days occur when I go back and forth with live play at various speeds too quickly. The cure is always to switch off and on. My other lock-ups have thus far always been fixed this way.

I reprogrammed my Sony learning remote to send Sched/Red as a macro from the Guide button during the previous problems, prior to the last full update. I've never seen the need to change it back, which is probably why I've not had any lockups.

I think the new OTA update is coming shortly. On the schedule on the DTG site the current OTA software has been given an end date of 10/04/2012, looks like this has changed today, was down as 'open' before.
