What is up with her singles over here? The only singles of hers last year that I've heard on the radio are Hold It Against Me and Till The World Ends, and rarely at that. And the only decent charting song was HIAM which was #6, the other three done rubbish, but in my opinion are better songs than HIAM. TTWE was #21, I Wanna Go was #138, and Criminal didn't even chart in the UK. Why have they charted so bad over here?

that is basically that...i agree they all had the potential to be massive hits and Femme Fatale should have got one heck of a lot more recognition! But these three things are what are needed for Britney in the UK/Europe to have made it a "bigger" era for her really and casual listeners probably only news they heard of her last year were she had a tour she cut prices down to sell and her engagement over her material which is pretty scary tbh.

America she is sorted with it shipped over a million copies there....but worldwide she needs to get on her side really if she wants to make these hits...which i am gutted about really because Femme Fatale...it should have happened!

Its a shame, but I don't think she's really arsed anymore. It's a shame. Femme Fetale was great. Not as good as Circus though. That album should have been huge.

Is it because she isn't popular in the UK any more? Have Gaga, Rihanna and Katy taken over? (I like all those artists as well as Britney, but I think they seem to be more popular in the UK). I'm shocked I Wanna Go and Criminal flopped

It's not just with music, it seems even the gossip magazines over here don't mention her that much. I actually can't remember the last time I saw her name in print.

thats a good thing Britney doesnt want to be in the public eye 24/7 we saw what it did to her in 06/07/08.

She soon comes back on the Front Covers as soon as theres a Negative story about her though I hate the UK Media they just love to bash her.

True. Although I meant good and bad press. I can't remember seeing any of either in recent memory.

If I were her, I'd take a few years out.

Primarily to build hype, demand and interest in her. Let her absence make the collective public heart grow fonder.

Secondly, because I think she truly wants and needs some time off where she can just relax and live life. Now is the perfect time because she's getting married, her kids are still young enough to need her around and there may even be a new one on the way.

Thirdly, because I think she needs time to gear herself up for it and WANT to come back and do this. At the moment a lot of people get the impression that she has little interest in her career because she does minimal/no promotion or performances in the US, let alone internationally. She's not convincing non-fans to invest in her because she doesn't seem invested herself.

She has had success in the past few years, but each album campaign fell short of it's expectation because people wanted (and were sort of promised, with "Britney's back bitches!" attitude) a "wow" comeback which Britney was unable to deliver to desired standard. If she could take a few years off to put together a brilliant album, that's both personal and engaging, and get her dancing/voice together...then return in 2013/2014 for her 15th anniversary in the business with high profile performances, she'd be in very good shape I think.

If she can't/won't dance, perhaps she should change up her act. Surprise everyone with something different. Can you imagine people's reactions if she returned with a song like Everytime and did a huge performance on the piano?

Its mainly because she does absolutely no promo, a couple of radio interviews will not get you a number one, as for Till the world ends, i read that even though it didnt chart well it still sold over 300,000.

That would be magical, however, she would be slammed for "copying" Gaga.

That's sad, but it's true. Part of the reason pop music has been so boring in the past few years is because pop artists can't do anything interesting anymore, or else they get accused of "copying" Lady Gaga (even though nobody has ever copied her before).

But onto the thread topic, I think the main reason for Britney's singles not doing well is due to a lack or radio airplay.

However, Till the World Ends has sold a LOT for a #21 single. It's sold almost as much as some of the #1s from last year.

It deserved to be No.1 it wasToxic part 2 of 2011.

I would love Britney to finally release an album like Original Doll..... That will Surprise ALOT of people Cause no matter what the haters/critics say Britney Spears DOES have Huge talent.

If she did a bit of promo, and released Till The World Ends first, she could have made something of it, But it does seem like her heart isnt in it any more, so no matter how good the music is, and Femme Fatale was definitely good, she wont pick up the casual support.

My view on it is that since her meltdown, she doesn't care an awful lot. Britney in her prime was fame hungry, she thrived on it. She certainly got it, but not in the way she was expecting. Britney now thrives on her children/family.

I think it's fantastic. She's the one celebrity who I have a very big soft spot for. From a personal view point, the fact she choses to do little promo and spend more time with her kids speaks volumes. She seems happy making music for her fans, not caring whether she entices the general public.

I'm glad
